Any Canadian who has been to Cuba could tell you the warmth and humour of the people there. Canada is not a benevolent ally to Cuba but our the relationship between our countries is being thrown away without a second thought. It's truly disgraceful.

It’s darkly funny how Ontario has had a malevolent oaf constantly embroiled in scandal leading the province for nearly 10 years and one of the main reasons he’s unstoppable is because this is our opposition.

“Luddites were slandered as being anti-tech, we should be critical of tech and push back against it to make applications productive for human dignity.”
Okay agreed but I actually think we should go back to like 70s era technology. Phones, newspapers, no 24/7 news channels. I am a firm believer.

I've said it before and I'll say it again and I will never stop saying it: this is not justice. This is not accountability. This is cruelty.

Centrist Dems fight back with right-wing, Reagan-era economics
Ezra Klein's Abundance movement is getting some backup: A new political group is urging Democrats to embrace "pro-growth," deregulatory policies with an eye toward 2028, according to plans first shared with Axios.

This will seriously disrupt aid getting into the county. Any country that even wants to pretend to care about Cuba and sovereignty needs to bring jet fuel to Cuba immediately
Cuban government has informed airlines that they only have about 24 hours worth of fuel left for planes.

Beyond the obvious damage that suddenly shutting down any country's air travel would have, a not at all small % of food and medicine in Cuba comes by luggage on airlines

The right-wing outrage machine is working overtime on Bad Bunny’s performance cause they need to continually act like the aggrieved party. Whatever actual feelings they have about it is secondary to the performative anger about it. These people are pathetic.

Been watching Sahara (1943) and it’s phenomenal but there’s weird race politics (unsurprisingly). You’re telling me a Black British Sudanese soldier joined a group with an American from Texas and a white guy from South Africa and I’m supposed to believe the captured Nazi is the only racist one?

Vaguely remembering BeetleBorgs, a Power Ranger ripoff that had a ghost in a haunted house grant kids the wish to become comic book heroes and also they have to talk to the creator for help.

This is really the critical point: Firefox is packing its browser with AI slop functions by default; relying on a user actively choosing to turn it off.

That isn't neutral - that is a political and ideological statement that they want more reliance on these tools

I’m currently at ~40,000 words in my book; most of which will probably be re-written at some point. Anyway my point is my writing is improving through this process. If I could generate a book in a day it would be incredibly shitty with no incentive to hone my work. Just a system of garbage.
“If I can generate a book in a day, and you need six months to write a book, who’s going to win the race?” God this is bleak

Hard not to sound like a conspiracy theorist nowadays.
Jeffrey Epstein died on August 10th. In the Epstein files, there is what appears to be a draft DOJ press release announcing his death that is dated August 9th.

(It’s here: www.justice.gov/epstein/file...)
The release on Saturday, August 10th appears to have two differences. The date, and the addition of “of an apparent suicide” www.justice.gov/usao-sdny/pr...

The left is not immune to grifting, folks.
Charlie is willfully misleading his followers. The article literally says the decision about whether to purchase the F-35 is deeply political and that Canadians prefer the Gripen, but that pilots still need to be trained on them which is where the politics falls away.
CBC continues to scold Canadians on the need to keep our "politics" out of the discussion on whether we get strong-armed into buying the F-35.
Lol... the F-35 is all about politics.
It is the politics of threat and intimidation against our independence.
