Generally speaking when British politicians start bringing God into it, we're in for a bad time.
These monsters will strip you of every last right & claim it's ok cos god told them to

I interviewed him once & he smoked so much that the bar staff intervened & swore so hard that the translator refused to translate. Which is to say that he was as tough, hazardous & uncompromising as his films. Gone in a puff of smoke, hopefully raising hell someplace else

I think we can all agree now that it was an odd choice to give the Nobel Peace Prize to someone who literally begs a foreign power to take over her country, seize its assets, and perform extra-judicial executions of its citizens in order to further her own political aspirations.
Hannity: Did you at any point offered to give him the Nobel peace prize?

Machado: It hasn’t happened yet. We want to give it to him. Share it with him.

Everyone on the Rose Byrne train this awards season should seek out Clara Law's THE GODDESS OF 1967 (2000) because it's quite something.

This makes the Golden Globes look credible. Hand out the International Film award with all the others or don’t give it at all; don’t shove a trinket at an unsuspecting director on the red carpet with a condescending chirp and then cut away before they can say a word.
Thrilled that THE SECRET AGENT won the Critics Choice award for Best International Film but so disheartened and angry at how it happened. Mendonça Filho and producer Emilie Lesclaux were ambushed on the red carpet, no briefing, no chance of giving a speech, the whole thing an insulting disaster.
Gente? 😵‍💫 O Critics Choice Award de Melhor Filme Internacional de ‘O Agente Secreto’ foi entregue no carpet, sem qualquer aviso prévio, a Kleber Mendonça Filho e Emilie Lesclaux, produtora do longa.

wonder if a fan studies scholar has done a study tracing the evolution of fandom from a place where you didn't need your ship to be canon to this now deranged place of entitlement where the work only exists to demand something from it & god help you if demands aren't met. beyond dispiriting.
