My contributor copy of the Maiku Hama Trilogy from @thirdwindowfilms.com! For this limited edition boxset, I wrote the accompanying booklet, discussing these cool as hell private-detective films in the context of Kaizo Hayashi‘s other postmodern works (e.g. TO SLEEP SO AS TO DREAM, CIRCUS BOYS).

While I'm not quite at the point of losing my house, the harm ai has done to my animation work income is huge, like 80% gone and it makes me wonder how many freelance artists and animators ARE losing everything while billionaire con men continue to rake it in.

I think the thing that Mamdani has here that other Dems don't is that he owes no loyalty to the old guard. A lot of Trump's mortal enemies actively tried to stop Mamdani. With a big smile, he beat the Dems that Trump hates and made them sad on TV. That's all Trump cares about.

OK tonight I learned that Gaspar Noe brought Dario Argento as his +1 to meet the Pope, and this is possibly the sweetest and the maddest thing to ever happen.
The Pope got to meet Dario Argento! I wonder which of the Three Mothers trilogy is Leo's fav, I'm gonna say Inferno, cos this Pope doesn't seem like a Suspiria kinda guy.
The Pope welcomed a number of Hollywood film stars to the Vatican, where he called cinema a "vehicle of hope".

More than 100 film industry professionals were received at the Apostolic Palace, including Cate Blanchett, Alison Brie and Viggo Mortensen.

I just did this. I loathe "opt-out" AI bullshit that they sneak into things. Should be illegal.
If you use GMail, AI (Gemini) was turned on yesterday by default and now scans all of your content for machine learning. To turn off, go to Settings>General and scroll down. Uncheck the box for "Smart features."

There's other "Smart" add-ons as well, but that's the one that reads your content.

There's an ongoing debate in Italy as the right-wing government seeks to slash funds to the film industry, which would directly affect the lives of film workers. The fact that the Pope listed all these below-the-line craftspeople and artists in his speech is significant.
