Once again I'm gobsmacked at the number of people calling for the abolition of the BBC who have John Peel, Hitchhikers, Doctor Who, Alan Partridge or Blackadder avatars. I'm not even sure how they can have sufficient intelligence to remember that their feet go on the ground.

Hard to imagine a more politically difficult job to do right than DG of the BBC. It was hard enough placating people with opposing interests when writing in to Points of View was the only way to complain, now everyone thinks their voice is most important and can scream it publicly it must be hell.

Another very pertinent fact that I have not seen mentioned ANYWHERE: In 14 years of Tory rule we had 14 Prisons Ministers - six in a single year, at one point - and a total of 11 Justice Secretaries, including Grayling, Raab, and Truss. In 13 years of Labour it was three: Irvine, Falconer, Straw. 🤔

Mirroring the video here if you don't want to even humor going onto Twitter, but when it gets into the "process" section, there's so many red flags of them lying about the work they put into the commercial that reveal how much of this video is them trying and lying after the fact.
