I get that it’s their whole shtick but it still very funny to me that every year CNN promotes its New Year’s Eve show with its lead evening anchor giving an expression of “ugh, THIS asshole again”, like every single time they got paired up by mistake and he is NOT happy about it.

For seemingly the bazillionth time, we’re pointing to the Avatars’ box office as a way to “scoreboard” the perfectly sensible observation that those movies aren’t particularly sticky in the cultural imagination. The point is that for billion dollar movies you’d think they’d have imprinted more.
