Seeing folks drag this post, asking how the WP could frame Bad Bunny’s performance as being about immigrants when he is American. But the post and story are about how his anti-ICE, pro-immigrant stance has angered (and divided) MAGA! It’s a good story; here’s a gift link to read it. wapo.st/4akbLdM

I waited to watch the new Muppet Show until I had emotionally bottomed out from the long week and it brought me back to life... just like it used to when I was a kid watching Muppets Tonight on TGIF (I had a rough childhood!)

Meanwhile, CBS News, while yes, actually calling the video "racist," is nonetheless tonight giving much bigger play to this "scoop" that makes Trump look vaguely apologetic vs centering the outrage. Guessing Bari got this exclusive herself and gave it to a staffer www.cbsnews.com/news/trump-c...

Amazing the power Occupied Twitter still has on DC press. The top Democrat in the House posted an Insta video saying "F- Donald Trump," and it's still not making headlines or even many stories (Axios and Deadlines the ones I've found.) Instead, sites which quote Jeffries are using his OT statement

Strong linear opening for Disney's THE MUPPET SHOW. It was Wednesday's No. 1 show among A18-49 (0.52)/A25-54 (0.69) across broadcast and cable, tripling the final installment of THE GOLDEN BACHELOR in the slot last fall.

It averaged 3.1M same-day viewers, improving on ABBOTT (2.8M) lead-in

I understand why it's gotten buried in the news about international and sports, but one of the largest papers in the US saying it's effectively no longer interested in arts coverage (unless it has something to do with Trump) seems like kind of a big deal.

the Washington Post effectively blew up its arts section today, dismissing its books, TV, music, and theater critics, features writers, and several editors. (I'm also guessing the vacant film critic position will stay that way.) Just an insane loss of talent and a huge self-inflicted wound.

Peacock is showing an opening ceremonies feed right now, and I think they just spent a minute on Katherine LaNasa and Grant Show taking pics of each other? And then Jeff Goldblum popped up?

Kinda bizarre, but I don’t hate it. There’s no commentary, no fake questions. Just celebs in the wild.

I miss the days when The WB could do a 3.1 in the 18-49 demo airing a 60-year-old (albeit all-time great) movie. Also they actually cut some decent promos for it with the musical stylings of Moby www.youtube.com/watch?v=RnwX...

This is true: MeTV put out a press release, broken first in THR, stating Wizard of Oz hadn’t been on broadcast since 1998. But in fact, as Jeff (and Wikipedia) note, the WB aired it from 2002-2004. I even found Variety’s 2002 ratings coverage and a 2004 press release.

MeTV is bringing THE WIZARD OF OZ back to broadcast TV. The movie has continued to be seen regularly on cable (via TNT, TCM and HBO), but its last telecast on over-the-air TV was in 1998 on CBS.

Now MeTV has licensed the classic to run this October as part of its Halloween "BOO-nanaza" stunt.
