Please tell me: Is this a Florida thing or not?

My husband I went on an evening, after-dark walk in our neighborhood. We could see from a distance down one street a lot of swirling red and blue lights from cop cars. A murder? An escaped convict? Filming another ethically bankrupt A&E series?

Find your way through the slop on television and the internet with the help of these two lovely additions to your inbox:
Let us help you find TV gems amid the internet slop
It’s Big Brother season, so some players are eating slop, the show’s term for a bland but protein dense oatmeal (as you can see from slop’s recipe and ingredient list). Even though slop is punishment on the show, at least it’s nutritious and substantive; the slop that’s increasingly filling the web and our social feeds is not, alas. (Though I do love a shrimp Jesus.) Whereas the internet was once filled with keyword soup to please search engines, we now have articles being written by generative AI, which is glorified autocomplete that can’t actually retrieve information; meanwhile, Google’s AI displaying inaccurate information so now people stopped visiting websites that have actual information, which is a real shitstorm. Not here! reality blurred, as you probably know since you’re reading these words, is written by real, passionate human beings. We share our thoughts, ideas, reporting and reviews, all to help you find the best in nonfiction TV. And one way to make sure you get just the good stuff is to join our e-mail lists! Is this true crime worth your time? Subscribe to Best Evidence’s newsletter and find out by getting the very best true-crime coverage in your inbox directly from Sarah, Eve, and their contributors: You can also follow Best Evidence via RSS, if you’re an old-school RSSer. Whether or not you know Emmet Otter’s Jug-Band Christmas (It’s great! Free to stream on Tubi, The Roku Channel, and Plex), I highly recommend this series of outtakes, which are so funny you can sometimes hear Jim Henson laughing in the background.

► "we’re being told to cut costs, often at the expense of production value, creative experimentation, and overall storytelling"

► "MrBeast has stolen our ideas for years, now he’s joined us"

► "Anything new is toxic to executives"

I'm a two similar customer service holes:

- both my cable company and a streaming service refuse to cancel a streaming service, because they both insist the other manages that. I think that's because the cable company gets money for that subscription, and the streaming service gets a user.
