Over Christmas I explained to a friend that for the first 6 weeks of the foetus, all of us are female. Then hormonal changes take place & half become male. He looked unimpressed. So I said that both of us had had a sex change & should view trans ppl with empathy. This shook my buddy to the core [1]

Androgynous, maybe, but those are not synonyms.
Nonbinary folks slant masc, femme, androgynous, or are fluid. You do not know looking at someone. Asking for preferred pronouns is a kindness this nonbinary femme appreciates. Thank you!
