I think an octopus with a bucket of numbered balls could do a better job than most incumbent policymakers.
In its British form, Blueskyism may be the belief that one could do a better job than incumbent policymakers.

This is basically what I aim for during What's in the Box? at EdFringe every year. 60 spots - twenty go to club/TV comedians and the rest go to up and coming comedians you've never heard of. And every show is amazing! Pop it on the telly!
A brand new show where 3 stand-up comedians you don’t usually see on tv do their best 15 minute set, hosted by a comedian you don’t usually see on tv. No repeats of comedian.

If Keir Starmer is as genuinely serious about stopping Reform as he claims to be, then there’s one thing he should do - defect to Reform. Can’t think of anything that would absolutely slaughter their popularity quicker.

I can't trust politicians who are anti-trans. Not because I'm "only searching for perfection" which is what centrists will be accusing me of for the rest of my life, it's because if you're not pro-trans you'll be garbage on lots of other issues too. Being anti-trans NEVER exists in a vacuum.

Welcome to new Bluesky users.

Here’s how we do things:

1. Always observe the Hambledon Protocol

2. No flisking

3. If someone tealights you, rink them without apology

4. I don’t mind them so much, but tissue-posts are generally frowned on

5. No questions

Good luck!

Thinking everything is doomed is apocalyptic thinking. It's no different than believing in Judgment Day, The Rapture, or any other doomsday judgment scenario that was always built from the ground up to push you into passive obedience.

Life.
Will.
Go.
On.

Get off your ass and make it worth living.

In conversation with Emily we've just coined the term "flu movies" - films you watch when you have the flu. Unchallenging. Feel good films you could watch with a piece of your brain missing.

Current list:
Yes Man
Freaky Friday
13 going on 30
Miss congeniality
The Mr Bean movie

Additions welcome
