classic story of some lady hitting the transphobia pipe harder and harder and becoming an intolerable shithead who alienates all her friends www.thecourier.co.uk/fp/politics/...
How Sandie Peggie 'Benidorm Posse' friend group was torn apart by NHS Fife trans tribunal
The personal cost of the changing room row was exposed in expletive-ridden private messages as tensions boiled over in group chats.

Just so I'm clear on this, computer memory has tripled in price because a bunch of it that hasn't been produced yet has been ordered to populate GPUs that aren't installed in data centers that aren't built yet in order to service a demand that doesn't exist to make profits that don't happen.

and another word for "anti-populist" is just "elitist" of course
I mean, would left-wing populism à la @zackpolanski.bsky.social really be a threat to a "progressive and successful" London compared Starmer's openly reactionary agenda?

And yet, this is what "sensible" anti-populists are still trying to make us believe...

This is true, and also applies to "nationalism" being used to conflate, like, the EDL and the SNP
By "populist", it's safe to say the FT is referring to the far right

This matters though because it helps conflate any alternative to the status quo, whether left or far right, and leaves only the status quo as a "reasonable" alternative, even if said status quo is increasingly far right...

I don’t know how this is being left out of like half of the reportage, but Nicki Minaj is clearly trying to kiss Trump‘s ass enough to let her child-raping brother off with a pardon. She hasn’t just like, gone insane or anything.

Quite a lot can be explained by the plain fact that our leaders and their hangers on are *enraged* that they can’t send people to prison for doing things that aren’t illegal, and they see this as a very serious problem that needs to be resolved, urgently.

This comes round every year. It's not actually Amazon's doing, it's a public domain repackager. And the reason they do this is because the film is public domain... except for Pottersville. So they cut that bit out so they can sell it legally.

NYT when a cis woman wants to take testosterone: 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
Earlier this year, we published an article on how women are increasingly seeking out testosterone to help with energy or their sex lives. We followed up with one woman who went on testosterone to help with her menopausal symptoms. The effects had unexpected consequences for her marriage.

And this shows another difference between auto and human generated subs - human subtitlers can do useful things like raise subtitles above graphics!
A case in point, as far as we know we did not watch an episode of Cannabis Drag Race (although that might explain some of the dodgy decision making of the judges’)

I'm not saying the bsky admins are super trans allies by any means, but if they're attempting to harass every trans person and ally off the platform they're doing it EXTREMELY badly judging by my timeline
Twitter users are spreading some crazy misinfo about Bluesky amid this AI art situation. I have a really cynical read on all this — I think there’s fearmongering on Twitter to prevent people from leaving. “Please don’t walk out of the jail, even though the door is open”

Per Craig Ferguson: When you're about to say something, ask yourself

1. Does this need to be said

2. Does this need to be said by me

3. Does this need to be said by me right now

It's amazing how asking these will get keep you out of trouble (that is, if you actually have sense to begin with)
I’ve been trying very hard to not be an asshole as I get older. Often, that just means keeping my mouth shut and nodding along.

I would probably buy more in the sales if shops had, like one (1) sale per quarter, where they put everything on sale at once, at the lowest price it's gonna get to.
