Link's perma ban is wrong and should be reversed.

And what illustrates it being EVEN MORE WRONG, are recent suspensions with restoration with much much more egregious offenses in the same line of what Bluesky claims Link was banned over.

I really like the "what is this thing reddit" but there are exactly 3 kinds of posts:

1) person posts extremely niche item, person with extremely niche knowledge identifies it against all odds
2) mom convinced random piece of plastic is drug paraphernalia
3) adult person has never seen a spice rack

I have a list of things I cook (tbh, it's a long list) and I choose five or six on Sunday night, one of which I have the ingredients for already (grocery shopping is on Tuesday, so Monday night's dinner has to be in the house already). Then I go through the dishes randomly in the week. 🧵
Spouse: What do you want for dinner

Me: To not have to decide what I'm going to have for dinner 😂

I am not allowed to go to the bathroom alone. No matter what, one of my cats MUST accompany me. Peaches will wake up from a dead sleep and stagger through the house after me, eyes still shut, just so I'm not alone in that little room.

What do they think will happen?

I finished the second of my charity-based podfics (audiobooks of fanfiction), and I'm celebrating by having home-made carnitas and corn elote-ish salad, and I think I'll also make refried beans.

Mmm, now I'm hungry.

I'm clearly going to have to spend a lot of time in my boxes of ephemera; now I need to find all the photos I can of the street I grew up on in Oakland. There must *be* pictures, right?

Sometimes I am just so sad that the past is lost, ykwim?
God, it's *gone*. It turned into a Peet's. It might still BE a Peet's.

There was a tea/coffee shop a couple steps from the upstairs apartment I lived in. I can still smell the rich medley of spices and slight bitter undertone from the freshly roasted coffee. I wonder if I have photos.

My favourite prompt that I’ve ever asked online, and I’m gonna ask it here because I think it’s great. But tell me about the corner store you grew up going to.

(Mine is the Edmonton institution Ralph’s. It was almost right beside my church Strathearn United. RIP the OG, but it lives on!)

So, there's stuff going around again about #teaching kids to read.

This is the most informative look into the issue I've found.

Sold a Story: How Teaching Kids to Read Went So Wrong
There's an idea about how children learn to read that's held sway in schools for more than a generation — even though it was proven wrong by cognitive scientists decades ago. Teaching methods based on...

Right, this event needs $1500 to happen. There are 600 participating bookstores & for most it’s their busiest sales day of the year, or is second only to Indie Bookstore Day / Small Business Saturday.

Editors/publishers, this is a no-brainer of an opportunity for your imprint. Romancelandia: pls RT
I'm gonna be real-real here: Bookstore Romance Day may not happen in 2026. By this time of year, I've usually secured at least a handful of sponsors & their backing helps pay for things like newsletter services & Canva & Zoom & internet, all of which are needed for planning & off-season events.

What chapter length do you like, as a reader? Mostly, I don't notice chapters, but the book I just started has such short chapters that I've been jarred out of the story.

I aim to write ~2500 word chapters, because that seems long enough for events to happen in my story, but now I'm curious.

In the Tom Cruise movie Collateral, it starts with a short cameo from Jason Statham, and I've always wanted the rest of that part of the story.

(It's an unexpectedly good film; Cruise appears to be in black and white while everything else is in color.)

Today is Nov 11. Today is for those who lost their lives.

This poem is specifically referring to the British Expeditionary Force which fought and held back the Germans in 1914, in the Battle of the Marne, denying the Germans an easy and fast victory.
