Seriously, folks, people did NOT vote for murder on the streets. A majority of those who voted went for Trump, and to win power, those against Trump will have to win many of them over, not reject them all as people who want fascism.

Trump is going to basically consolidate all federal departments like ICE, CBP, DHS under one executive branch enforcement arm (which theyll claim he has constitutional authority to do- & whether they’re right doesn’t matter b/c they’re in power & they’ll do it anyways)

Unitary executive theory. ICE, DHS, HSI are all under the executive. Trump will utilize them as gestapo secret police as he pleases. He will use his ability as executive & control over foreign policy to label ppl as “terrorists” to deport, disappear, assassinate them.

One thing that irks me: people keep calling the folks on the streets in Minneapolis protestors. They are not generally there to protest, they are there to observe and document. This is the product of organizing and mutual aid. It is telling that these acts of citizenship are seen as protest!

I've been studying the history of US, and indeed, global policing my whole career and I can't make it more clear to law makers that this isn't a bastardization of policing, it is its purest form and logical conclusion. The impunity, militarization, deference, legitimacy, racial targeting, etc.

I can't even turn on the audio for that video of the detained people and children screaming in protest or I might set myself on fire. But like... I feel similarly knowing there are people trapped in CECOT. In IDF custody. Allowing this anywhere makes EVERYWHERE less safe.

Undocumented immigration is not a crime, at most it's a civil infraction. If you drive with an expired driver's license, do you think it's appropriate to be beaten and sent to a concentration camp then shipped to some country you've never been before or worse? Because that's what's happening.
