Someone posted one of these Frank King Gasoline Alley originals on ig the other day and I was moved to look up more. These are from 1925, 1926 and then one from 1951. These blew my mind. I guess doing a Gasoline Alley deep dive this winter.

There are some people you meet in the children's book space whose artistry is so genuinely geared towards children, their creative drive so pure and fun and goofy. A lot of us have to do some translation of our adult selves for kids, and others just have it. Dan struck me as someone who just had it.
