Where are we now with extremism in America?

1. The Douglass Mackeys, Richard Spencers, and Jason Kesslers of 2024 are working for billionaire funded think tanks, billionaire funded media outlets, and are taxpayer funded Congressional staffers.
Here's how former Seattle Police Officer Andrei Constantin felt about cops running people over with their cars. He was mututals on Twitter with the head of the SPD union, so it's safe to assume they mostly think this way.

CNN segment part 2. Don't get me wrong, it's fantastic for her that we have this horror show on video, but also it's really extraordinary that this doesn't seem to have altered their behavior even a little bit.

Billionaires are seeing their investments in politics as paying off, so they keep spending more. Think about how much worse everything has gotten for society over the last decade. This is cause --> effect.
I'm still SHOCKED by the obscene rise in billionaire election spending since Citizens United in the NYT piece, despite already knowing that election corruption w/ $ was profound. (Recall that BCRA fought dangerous campaign $ in *2002*)

The article data didn't have a graph, so I made one to show it.

"'She is dead,'" Officer Auderer told Officer Solan, before bursting out laughing.

"'No, it’s a regular person,' Officer Auderer said, adding: 'Yeah, just write a check — $11,000. She was 26, anyway. She had limited value.'"

If Newsome could Thanos-snap his fingers and every trans and homeless person would turn to ash he would 100% do it, but only after finding a way to profit from the act.
To every cis person glazing Gavin Newsom by insisting he’s “better for trans people” when the primaries haven’t even happened yet: Fuck you.

Ignoring our warnings that Newsom is a transphobic billionaire puppet is bad enough but leveraging our struggles to defend him? Seriously, fuck you.

Between this and the story about the ice agents who ate at a Mexican restaurant and then arrested some of its workers when they were done, it's a reminder that these people reject even the most basic social agreements of hospitality and of helping others. They're sociopaths.
CCTV footage appears to show DHS agents posing as people having car trouble in order to lure a target out of his house before arresting them. The target comes out and starts helping them before 3 vehicles surround the scene. The car "experiencing" trouble then drives off with them.

Federal immigration officials plan to spend $38.3 billion to boost detention capacity to 92,600 beds, a document released Friday shows, as U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement quietly purchases warehouses to turn into detention and processing facilities.

As a former public defender who represented thousands of people, I can’t stop thinking about the contrast the Epstein files raise.

I watched 1000s face swift, devastating punishment for far less serious conduct — poor, marginalized, & presumed dangerous from the start.

For nearly all those I once served , the presumption was risk, disposability, and guilt.

For the powerful, it is ordinarily complexity, credibility, and patience.

That asymmetry is not abstract. It is structural. And once you’ve seen it up close, it’s impossible to unsee.

yeah anyone who thinks this is a great idea wants a five year old victim to have to choose if they want their relative to die
As a child protection professional, I can tell you the death penalty is NOT an awesome solution to child sexual abuse. Most children are abused by family members; they will not report if their family members will die as a result.
