Where are we now with extremism in America?

1. The Douglass Mackeys, Richard Spencers, and Jason Kesslers of 2024 are working for billionaire funded think tanks, billionaire funded media outlets, and are taxpayer funded Congressional staffers.

I actually find it hard to parse the meaning of "reactionary centrist" writing. The vibe is easy: both-sidesing slavery by eliding any moral content and reducing it to a debating point.
Physically incapable of analyzing politics outside of this insipid frame.

Started listening to this with my spouse. We're only two hours in, but damn it's so good. Once I'm done I'll try to write a review.

First thought is Vincent, you magnificent bastard. I was familiar with your game and put respect on your "name", but not nearly enough.

everyone’s saying “people are NIMBYs about concentration camps” and yeah, I don’t want a concentration camp in my neighborhood, or anywhere

you know who I don’t mind in my neighborhood?

free immigrants, undocumented or otherwise

What country is this military aged male with a history of violence invading?
Just checking, it's now ok to flee your homeland, because you're afraid for your safety, and seek refuge in another Country?

Glad we've cleared that up. Let's hear no more about immigration and refugees then.

It's never just one lie or one harm in isolation. After the feds lied about why/how they shot a man, they also did this to a neighborhood mostly helpless to defend itself (and MSM was happy to frame it all as "clashes").
More gas, more flashbangs. Feds reappeared, made that arrest. People screaming for medics.

Enough money to effectively end homelessness in America, and we're spending it building concentration camps.
Breaking news: ICE expects to spend $38.3 billion on its plan to acquire warehouses across the U.S. and retrofit them into immigrant detention centers that can hold tens of thousands of people, according to agency documents.

Wish more politicians said this. They know it, but few will say it.
AOC: "Extreme level of wealth inequality leads to social instability and drives authoritarianism, right-wing populism, and really dangerous domestic internal politics. That is a direct outcome of the failure of democracies over decades to deliver."

Anyone currently involved in federal immigration enforcement, every officer, every bureaucrat, every lawyer, every judge, is a member of the most evil group of people this country has seen since Reconstruction. Darkness personified, every one. Doing this to children is beyond depraved.
On Thanksgiving, the immigrant children held at the Dilley detention center gathered in the gym for what they thought was a holiday feast.

The kids salivated over a spread of turkey, sandwiches, pastries and pies, a family told me.

But the food wasn’t for detainees — it was for the staff.
