If Jeff Bezos could afford to spend $75 million on the Melania movie & $500 million for a yacht to sail off to his $55 million wedding to give his wife a $5 million ring, please don't tell me he needed to fire one-third of the Washington Post staff.

Democracy dies in oligarchy.

NEW: Huge cheers earlier for the Ukrainian athletes at the Winter Olympics opening ceremony.

Then huge BOOS as JD Vance comes on the big screen in the stadium.

Even the commentators can’t hide it…

Why didn’t Karoline Leavitt initially say the video was wrong, was posted by a staffer, and apologize?

She did none of those things.

She just blamed Democrats for “fake outrage.”

Ten countries have launched investigations related to the released Epstein files.

Norway, UK, France, Lithuania, Latvia, Sweden, Australia, North Macedinia, Turkey, Poland.

Conspicuously absent is the United States, the epicenter of this scandal.

We know why.

This is disgraceful and sickening. Remember that animal abusers do not stop there. It is well documented that they go on to enjoy careers as wife beaters, domestic abusers, child abusers, and assaulters of the general public.
That is, if they're not otherwise occupied being arsonists.
MEMPHIS: “Memphis Safe Task Force” (U.S. marshal) caught KICKING A PUPPY 😳 as they arrested a guy for on a drug warrant

“He was harmless. There’s no reason he should’ve done that.”

@GovBillLee this is what we’re paying $1 Million a day for?🤔

It cannot come soon enough.
And the bill the United States is left holding well may force us to declare Moral Bankruptcy.
Sen. DURBIN: One day, the Trump presidency will end. But the statute of limitations for crimes committed by this Administration and its agents will extend beyond that date. This will allow accountability, and criminal charges, for government officials who violated people’s constitutional rights.

I'm crying.
Because of the tremendous loss.
Because of the weight.
But most of all, because of the rarity of hearing compassion and resolve and hope.
As endangered as the Monarch, and equally beautiful.
Mamdani: "I speak of Renee Good, whose final words to the man who murdered her were, 'I'm not mad at you.' I speak of Alex Pretti who died as he lived, caring for the stranger. ICE shot him bc he did something they could never fathom ... let us offer a new path: one of defiance through compassion."

Credit where it’s due:

This is one hell of a hard nosed bullshit free article by the NYT. It feels like an editor slipped in the word anomalies, but other than that it’s tough & honest, & how news outlets should write about Trump & his racist administration.

One of the scariest aspects of the Trump administration is that they continue to make us vulnerable to an ever lengthening list of disasters that haven't happened yet but eventually will.

From colleague @davidjbier.bsky.social: in a @justsecurity.org survey of dozens of cases in which the Trump admin misled the courts or failed to comply with court orders, more than half the cases in both categories were immigration-related matters. Deportation mania undermines legal integrity.
The Administration Misleads & Ignores Courts Most Often in Immigration Cases
In fact, immigration-related cases account for most of the deception and noncompliance by the Trump administration in court.

This is blatant racism from the president of the United States. It is disgusting, it is dangerous, and it must be taken down. Republicans must join us in denouncing this behavior instead of excusing it.

Gladys Mae West. A brilliant pioneer and a brilliant mind.
No joke: I got angry hate mail today for writing an obituary of a Black woman scientist—because the person felt she did didn’t deserve the recognition.

Which just makes me want to share it again: www.nature.com/articles/d41...
Gladys Mae West obituary: mathematician who pioneered GPS technology
She made key contributions to US cold-war science despite facing huge barriers as a Black woman.

Separate camera to record (can be on your person);
Turn off biometrics & faceid;
Film 360 (slowly) showing landmarks, signs, time & date;
And more
