Establishing two personal rules.

Anyone who singularly blames "Bernie Bros" for Trump in the year 2024 is getting blocked. Sorry, I'm not listening to that shit anymore.

Anyone denying war crimes committed by Israel or Hamas or Hezbollah (or that happened in any war) is getting blocked.

In general a lot of moderate liberals find it very annoying that leftists, radical liberals, and libertarians all end up at open borders, missing the "obvious" middle ground position, but the thing is that if you examine the issue at all, borders are pretty damn hard to actually justify
You're not going to believe this, but closed borders are racist. They always have been. They always will be. You can indulge in smoke-filled dorm room discussions of hypothetically non-racist immigration restrictions, but in the real world closed borders are racist af.

"It leads to ticket splitting for Dems"

...But does it also shift the baseline to the right? That's the main problem.
weird how so many democrats from competitive seats feel compelled to vote against the party line (and national interest), but republicans don't. makes you wonder if they are taking bad advice that has little to do with electoral performance, and GOP pols know this

This is a huge deal. After years of leading in fundraising, Dem small donors are (rightly) pissed off at the spam texts and emails, as well as at congressional leadership. Meanwhile, GOP billionaire money is hitting record levels. Perfect storm.

The vast majority of Democratic politicians, including many who fancy themselves ICE opponents, remain deeply invested in the narrative that some immigrants are bad guys and others are good guys, and that the bad guys deserve deportation. Here's a story about what this kind of thinking can produce:
Inside ICE’s Only Contract with a Blue State - Bolts
As part of a 287(g) contract between state officials and ICE, Massachusetts continues to release prisoners into deportation—even as state lawmakers look to ban other forms of ICE collaboration.

The inevitable conclusion of hyping people up to "deport criminals" is to expand the definition of "criminal."

That is why progressives are so obsessed with "criminal rights."
A stunning detail the ICE chief shared in this hearing that was supposed to be a brag, except it isn't: ICE has arrested 379,000 people between Jan. 2025-Jan. 2026 -- but only 8,700 were suspected gang members or known suspected terrorists.
