Added the last 4 Canadian Federal Elections! This includes both results for the main 6 federal parties and a "2 Coalition Margin" that treats the coalitions as 🔴 Lib+NDP+Grn vs 🔵 Con+PPC. The latter will be used in juxtastat.

Also: minor fix to precinct disaggregation for US
It's crazy that he's one of the like 5 real libertarians. It's also crazy that the average true libertarian, regardless of how crazy, has a more coherent moral view on immigration than like 80% of liberals, simply because they do not constrain their minds to the status quo

The play from miller here is I think just to assume that you can draw whatever red lines you want and the Democrats will cave before the Republicans decide to drop the demand
who knows what happens politically, but i do not think choosing to die on the “no, we refuse to get warrants for private property” hill is a good tactical or political position for stephen miller to pick.
‘Complete nonstarter’: Administration allies say judicial warrants a red line for White House in DHS funding talks as shutdown looms
The seeming stalemate sets up a clash between the Trump administration and Democrats ahead of a Friday night deadline.

An incredible turn of events here. 10/10, no notes. 😂

Going to start referring to myself as a "former Republican voter" to enhance my credibility when I advocate for left wing stuff (I voted for Falconer on the recall ballot alongside voting No on recall in 2021)

They dropped some votes, Mei gains 528, Mal gains 313. He needs to get 889 votes out of an estimated remaining 4100 [though more than 800 were added while the estimate went from 4900 to 4100 so this might be an underestimate], which if taken literally means he needs to win remaining ballots by 22

There are two separate replies to this post that are mad about the journal article being paywalled. It is literally on arxiv!!

Yeah I think a core belief behind a lot of this stuff for rich people is a just world fallacy type thing. Obviously not true for the ground troops because it's obviously not working out for them, but for the leadership
the race and iq stuff is basically a "neutral" way to justify wealth inequality and criticize democracy to be fair. epstein can very easily believe himself superior stock for the simple reason that he has a lot of money
In some ways it's actually way funnier that Epstein was super big into racist, eugenicist "race and IQ" stuff while also having a literal learning disability

Fundamentally the reason religious politics/secularism doesn't seem to work the way it used to is very straightforward: nobody actually cares anymore. The vast majority do not really believe in the supernatural the way they used to and everyone knows it. As a result, the structures are anachronistic

Even if you oppose the tax "pro-Billionaires" is an insane position to take. This is like opposing a tax on cigarettes by holding a pro lung cancer rally

I'm adding a 2 Coalition Margin (Lib+NDP+Grn+BQ) - (CPC + PPC) and that will be the basis of the juxtastat questions.

Is this reasonable or will I be cancelled by the Canadian mob?
(Canadian elections, at least 2019, 2021, 2025 coming to Urban Stats and Juxtastat soon)

Decent proxy metric, and once again basically every map of the US looks the same
February 7, 2026 at 6:11 PM
Part of it is because it's a smaller country but Canadian election data is so much better organized than American data. I'm getting data from a single official source across multiple elections, which never happens in the US

I have not heard an actual explanation that's satisfying about this. Even if the line is deniability, there's nothing deniable about "they're eating the dogs, theyre eating the cats" or any of the various anti Somalian statements
Sometimes I sympathize with Trump, because it probably is genuinely very confusing why you can talk about purging the lifeblood of the nation of foreign filth and nobody cares, and then you post some dumb racist video and everyone starts yelling at you.
I found the dumbest most pathetic post on the internet today:
