If someone had bumped off Lowtax in 99, the entire arc of the 21st century might've been different. This is somehow an objective statement of fact

So for Dems, the win is: reiterating 3 things that are already law, 1 thing that is a best practice, and 1 thing that was already a rule up until 6 months ago?

From the bottom of my heart: fuck off with this.

And they didn't even include ICE out of hospitals, healthcare facilities and daycares.
Dems coalescing around 5 restrictions on ICE, I'm told:

DHS required to cooperate with state probes (big)
CBP stays at border
warrants for arrests
IDs, bodycams
ICE out of churches, schools

"That package unites a lot of Dems," Sen Chris Murphy tells me on the pod:

A Dem Senator’s Harsh Takedown of Trump Hits Home: “Breaking Point”
As Trump scrambles to contain the damage from the latest ICE horrors, Senator Chris Murphy offers a sharp indictment of Trump-ICE lawlessness—and explains how Dems can meet the urgency of the moment.

Diane, we should do a bunch of muppet shorts about a contrarian mouse who lives in a box and complains about how everyone outside of his box is living in an echo chamber and naturally we should name him Thomas Chedderton Williams send skeet no revisions

I don’t think we should make concessions to the Masked Murderers Guild of America. I don’t think we should compromise so the Masked Murderers Guild of America stops using kidnapped kids from schools as bait. I thought this was already illegal. The Masked Murderers Guild of America should not exist.

Few things irritate me more than paeans to Joe Biden's supposed "decency." I mean, obviously he was "better than Trump," but he was and is a raging bigot and narcissist.
The way Biden and his party treated Omar and Rashida Tlaib was reprehensible. Openly contemptuous and racist.
Holy shit. The Biden DOJ investigated Ilhan Omar???

Also ppl who work in tech and live in/near San Francisco or Austin & make over $200,000/yr need to replace all the kids in the camps. Literally 80% of the world’s problems solved, right there. Please make me “czar” of that specific thing.

Dems: Ok, hear me out. What if we kept ICE, but they wore cameras

Everyone: There are already cameras

Dems: Yes, but these cameras are ON the ICE agents

"Return CBP to the border"
Now that you have seen what CBP does, why is it okay to have them on the US-Mexico or US-Canada border? Some people say they want "a controlled border" but at what cost to life?

BIG TIME. Astonished to say it but now is an incredibly exciting time to begin a political career because *maintaining discipline* (DESTROY ICE & its even tangential supporters) as corporate Dems characteristically fumble ONCE IN A LIFETIME political capital will make people fall in love with you.
We’re seeing a lot of the same dynamic nationally that happened here in MN post-George Floyd murder. The mass outcry across the world led to justice promised- then in time that was consciously morphed into a lot of toothless “reforms” that were easily ignored. Defund became extra-fund! (as you know)

Bovino was an ablative fascist; burned off and discarded in order to protect & continue the white supremacist & fascist projects of the Trump Regime.

A major variation between Trump I & II, so far, has been the lower turnover in sycophantic officials and lackeys in the Cabinet & elsewhere.

Browning’s study of Reserve Police Battalion 101 shows how average men became mass shooters through peer pressure, conformity, and step by step escalation. Many were not ideological fanatics. The key dynamic was social belonging, fear of standing apart, and adapting to a violent new norm. 5/
