My 49% serious bit on this for years has been if you had a time machine & took the best MLB middle infielders, best NFL DBs, and best NBA PGs back to when they were 6 yrs old & had them play & train soccer as their primary sport we would win our first World Cup 4 cycles from now & never lose again.
America will win the World Cup only when we finally and fully exploit our greatest natural resources: combo guards and cornerbacks
As the World Cup gets closer and the question begins to again become inevitable, going to put this down as my marker.
