The pace at which US wealth concentration is rising is simply staggering

The concentration of AI wealth into the hands of a few tech barons + plutocratic capture ==> unchartered territory

Lot of people dunking on this for a lot of different reasons but I can't get past how wildly expensive it must be to be running these AI agents all the time.

Maybe the reason these folks don't party is because they spend all their disposable income on tokens.
Token Anxiety

i think i mostly echo this for myself. with so much that can be done, i often feel like i *should* be doing something, always

Tell me you've never seriously studied political science without telling me you've never seriously studied political science
A critique I hear of me sometimes is that I don’t believe in changing public opinion.

What I would say is that I don’t really think *working politicians* should be focused on changing opinion, that’s the job for everyone else — go out and persuade someone!

The media's focus on tone is such a good example of how easy it is to trick them. It means nothing! It's literally superficial!

But bad actors know if they say the same Nazi things with a smile instead of a scowl, they'll earn themselves some both sides coverage from America's assignment editors.
Rubio's speech in Munich warned of the "civilizational erasure" of Europe and the ills of "mass migration." He said the US aims to save European culture. And he pushed for more defense spending. Rubio hit these themes in a friendlier tone than Vance. Gift link: www.nytimes.com/2026/02/14/w...

This is something the Nazis used to do to Jewish children in the camps. It happened to a man I knew when he was a child in Auschwitz. The camp guards thought it was funny as hell.
On Thanksgiving, the immigrant children held at the Dilley detention center gathered in the gym for what they thought was a holiday feast.

The kids salivated over a spread of turkey, sandwiches, pastries and pies, a family told me.

But the food wasn’t for detainees — it was for the staff.

Not possible to reform this
Marimar Martinez was shot by Border Patrol five times.

DHS accused her of being a domestic terrorist.

She went to court to get the body cam footage released.

It shows Agent Charles Exum driving with his gun drawn.

Saying “do something b*tch”.

Ramming her car.

Shooting her.

It shows DHS lied.
