like 75% of dem messaging right now should be “the party led by epsteins best friend is breaking into pre-k childcare centers so they can record your toddlers and put the videos on internet”
uhhh yeah I can see why these childcare properties weren't eager to let in some rando dudes asking "where are the kids?"

Being a “back in my day” guy about Texas Tech-Oregon being a defensive brawl instead of a 73-67 game with 1,400 passing yards. Kids these days wouldn’t understand. They never had iPods. They don’t realize Subway footlongs are supposed to cost $5

DHS now says it's aiming for 100 million deportations. In an amazing coincidence, there are 104 million Black and Hispanic people living in the U.S. right now.

It’s worth saying out loud that this is Nazi propaganda. They’re not winking and nodding. It’s pure unadulterated lebensraum.
I took podcast bro Jon Stewart's latest jab at people who wear masks, the gobsmackingly vacuous Rally to Restore Sanity and/or Fear, and his ascension to becoming America's newsman and posited that his career tracks along the major themes of this era of collapse. www.jezebel.com/jon-stewart-...

Honestly, if Heated Rivalry manages to be the thing that finally de-mystifies homosexuality for normie sports media... that's just a firm cultural victory for Canada. History book shit.

People get all worked up over MMT but you can't name a framework that has been as consistently correct about how interest rates and the dollar work in practice.

If you confidently predict that bond vigilantes will attack the world's most liquid financial market which also happens to be the world's most important reserve asset, as so many have done for so many decades, I'm going to ask you to show some work on what is changing here and now.

It's true, you can't report the news until a NYT editor uses language no human has ever used before to write a deceptive headline absolving Trump of any wrongdoing
There is a culture of immediate gratification that isn't satisfied by rigorous fact-gathering and editing. The internet runs fast and shallow.

And if you refuse to give someone credit for standing for liberal democracy just because they don’t agree with your policy preferences, you’re missing the big picture. www.thebulwark.com/p/why-marjor...
I think a lot of people would be perfectly happy with illiberal policies (like the ones MTG continues to support for trans people, immigrants, women, free speech, you name it) as long as they can keep the uniparty, Morning Joe framework of politics they've lived with their whole lives
I’ve seen a bunch of responses to the Draper profile of MTG complaining about her pushing ahead a bill that restricts gender-affirming care for minors. This is a misunderstanding of what she’s doing. www.thebulwark.com/p/why-marjor...

We are spending $1 trillion on debt service alone at this point, the fiscal crisis is here, and we gotta soak everybody up and down the scale to get out of it with our hair intact
One of my more controversial opinions is that the US needs to significantly raise taxes to the tune of a couple % of GDP right now, even before any expansive social democratic reforms, and that means you—yes you, dear highly educated professional—will need to pay up, not just nebulous billionaires.

Foreign Policy Analysis is low key the darkly funniest field ever now. Are we at war? Does the president himself know? Who are we at war with? Why? Something to do with drugs and/or oil? We’re either invading Venezuela, Nigeria, neither, or both.
Either Trump believes the US struck a Venezuelan facility on Christmas Eve because he was told that erroneously, or he's conflating different stories, or we actually did what he claims. Regardless of explanation, we need that information.

i think if you ride public transit enough you learn that most weird behavior is not dangerous, and conversely i think driving a car teaches you that everyone is trying to kill you at all times

Speaking of typos, someone should direct Ms. Dhillon to U.S. v. Murphy, 406 F.3d 857, 859 n.1 (7th Cir. 2005), aka the greatest footnote in appellate court history. scholar.google.com/scholar_case...

These are the most dead end people in politics. They have nothing to offer the discourse other than their own bigoted ignorance dressed up as sarcastic wisdom because they are dullards who know nothing about the modern world.
