The Belkin text on music composition has a series of videos that are loosely associated with it. Here's a video that goes with chapter 1.

I don't mean to complain. I'm thrilled to be doing this, and to have such a nice group to work with.

I keep thinking, if I were doing this at the community college I'd be worried about catching the bus on time, missing homework deadlines, "am I behind everyone else?"

Now -- no worries!!

Some friends and I are working through Belkin's text on music composition. Here's exercise 2 in ch. 1 --

Invent short motives to evoke the following characters: nostalgic, angry, funny, anxious. Specify not only pitch and rhythm but tempo, timbre, register, dynamics, and articulation

One of Trump's objectives seems to have been to provoke a violent reaction from the public. Despite the provocations of CBD and ICE, the public has been nonviolent.
As we reported previously at @zeteo.com, one of the things that made Trump so keen to deploy U.S. troops to Chicago when he did was because he kept seeing coverage of him bumping the brakes the previous time, and didn’t want to give Pritzker a “win” after Illinois Dems mounted heavy resistance
Is this losing? Feels like losing

People have this stupid sense in their broken brains that the only two possible outcomes are total capitulation and voting to impeach a president, without dealing with the vast continuum of things that happen formally and informally between those two extremes.

65 years ago on Nov. 14, little Ruby Bridges was escorted into an all-white elementary school in New Orleans. Norman Rockwell, renowned for blissful depictions of Americana, did this remarkable painting for Look magazine. Printed as a double page, over-size spread, it's his masterpiece.

It’s baby octopus season 🐙🦑

Saw this little guy last night with the Salish Sea School in Anacortes, WA as part of their free community dock walk I volunteer as an interpreter for.

We can tell it is a giant pacific octopus from the single line of chromatophores on each arm.

Here's a video about Gwynn's Theme in Dark Souls 1.
It starts out by talking about the other music in DS 1 to give context for how Gwynn's Theme is so different. No orchestra, just piano. "The piano is like the orchestra in black and white"

The little Synth Nerds Discord group I belong to has decided to study a music text together. Since we're all at different levels, we're going to make individual decisions what "homework" we want to do.

As part of my self-assigned homework today I was reading about Bach's Well Tempered Clavier
