This is *depraved* -- glamor shots & an exculpatory feature for a woman who shit on the key central tenets of journalism, repeatedly.

NYT is celebrating elite freedom from accountability. Actively celebrating it. You wouldn't put this in a satire, it's too ham-handed!

"The notion that Fuentes’ rhetorical violence is a bridge too far, while Heritage provides the infrastructure for the administration’s actual violence, strains credulity. It is reminiscent of the Citizen’s Councils condemning Klan violence, but bailing them out and serving as their lawyers."
I wrote about the supposed conservative "civil war" over antisemitism as more of a lovers' spat for @liberalcurrents.

🚨New WP🚨
We examine news sharing on 7 platforms:
1)Right-leaning platforms=lower quality news
2)Echo-platforms: Right-leaning news gets more engagement on right-leaning platforms, vice-versa for left-leaning
3)But low-quality news gets more engagement EVERYWHERE, even BlueSky!

You have to understand what pieces like this from the NYT are and are not.

They are not an honest assessment of the state of politics today.

They are a negotiation tactic—an effort by a calcified, right-leaning legacy institution to steer the discourse in a direction more palatable to elites.

You should read this entire piece, but the part that resonates the most is this: groups like Liberty Counsel will not stop. Ever. And the fact that what he was asking for was even in the same galaxy as "plausible" is symptomatic of just how rogue this court is.
NEW: Kim Davis is done. The Supreme Court is not reconsidering Obergefell. What happens now?

There is a reason people were afraid that the Supreme Court would take up case. The reason is the Supreme Court itself. Here's why I'm taking this whole experience seriously.

I'll never forget watching an anti-trans mvmt leader try to reassure her allies that trans youth "are not suicidal because of us." Now, they either deny trans people's suffering or call it a kind of abuse.

Like anytime a Muslim says 9-11 they have to immediately apologize.

There are halal and kosher hot dogs, idiot. They already sell those in NYC. What strikes me about all this hand-wringing is that everyone lamenting the "fate" of NYC shows that they've barely even looked twice at the place outside the glitzy tourist crap for like five seconds.

The last 10 years of elections in the US tell us it isn't about being left, right, or center, nor is it about being too woke/not woke enough. It's always been about who more convincingly argues they can make life affordable.

In the year of our Lord 2025, it is and has always been, about the MONEY.

Not for nothing but like...imagine if he said this about a presidential candidate he didn't like. This man needs to go, and he needed to go yesterday, and every single politician like him needs to go, because this is not leadership.
Q: It's election day in NYC. Did you vote for Mamdani or Cuomo?

this shit right here is wrecker shit, as much as wrecker shit as any online leftist has done, if not more so. no wonder so many people are repulsed by anyone (rightly) saying 'vote blue no matter who', the most powerful elected Dem in the nation won't do it! it undermines the whole coalition! jfc

A reminder that Zohran won IN SPITE OF his party and not because of it. This matters because while Democrats like Schumer and Jeffries might SAY "Vote Blue No Matter Who" and "Party Unity," they LITERALLY found it easier to go to bat for a guy with a Nazi tat than Mamdani. They will not accept this.
