I've watched thousands of videos from the Jan. 6 riot as part of NPR's reporting and archive project on that day.

Here are some of the lesser known videos that have really stuck with me.

Never let a single goddamned person on the Right ever claim again that they’re the party of law and order without laughing in their lying face.
So Capitol Police officers were assaulted and injured on Jan 6th, the White House today is blaming them for the violence, and the people who attacked them have been pardoned and are back to mock and abuse them on the 5th anniversary.

And the GOP is the party of the police? Really? REALLY??
White House's newly-posted "timeline" of Jan 6 blames Capitol Police for Jan 6, which included an attack on ..... Capitol Police

As someone who has cut back on news at times during parental leave, I concur.
my hot take is that I don't think it's this website specifically that's toxic. the Circumstances are toxic and nobody really knows what to do about it so they come online and scream. and if I may offer an alternative: actually going outside and screaming feels better.

Curtis Yarvin has written a very long screed in defense of his post in which he said, “Hitler spoke the truth.”

A sampling of select portions is below and includes, in reference to Jewish people, the words:

Yesterday, I had an exchange w a scholar who defended Bhattacharya & Makary as reasonable thinkers after the vaccine schedule change announcement, arguing for the need for civility.
I argue here that we shouldn't prioritize civility over sound health policy

Think its actually pretty bearish for Trump if “only” 80 percent of his supporters back his war on Venezuela. If “only” 80 percent of his supporters supported HIM, he’d be toast. newrepublic.com/article/2049...

This, from Bryce Elder, City editor at the FT's Alphaville, is a laudable entry on the subject of the Elon Musk/Grok 'undressing' scandal. It identifies the senior executives at the company who are responsible for it (and 'paints' them in what seems to me to be an appropriate light).

Bari Weiss Is Dead Wrong—Good Journalism Isn’t About Being Pro-America
The CBS boss and her new evening anchor have released new “principles.” Among them: “We Love America.” They have no understanding of journalism—but they sure know where their bread is buttered.

Also seems like these traders are practically asking Dems to investigate these trades on Day 1 after taking back the House.
A side story is there’s a ton of insider trading on these prediction markets. New accounts making hundreds of thousands on their first and only trade, that maduro would be ousted. Seems like insider trading is legal if not encouraged on these platforms
