It’s wild watching every advanced agency developed during my lifetime be destroyed on purpose, by people who want to profit from it and cheered on by those who will be hurt the most because they don't understand how things work.
"I just disagree with you on this topic."

"Yea, but you literally haven't learned anything on the topic since high school, so it's unsurprising you don't understand it."

Why are we using kid gloves and pretending people who put in no effort, besides scrolling social media, have relevant opinions?

1/ What USDA is doing here is an attack on the core systems that keep the United States fed and economically stable. “Climate modeling” might sound like woke jargon but it's basic national security and has been since the 70s when the military started it. www.reuters.com/legal/litig...

There are a lot of headlines. Don't miss this one. "The National Guard is planning to train hundreds of troops in each state to be part of a rapid-response force focused on civil disturbance missions by the start of next year, two U.S. officials said."

Do you know what it's like to be a part of a targeted diaspora, to experience racism, understand that elected officials' commentary can heavily influence it, but still having to grapple with the fact the country where your family is from does, in fact, pose a threat to the one where you live now?

1/16 🧵France + U.S., a tale worth retelling

Disclaimer: This piece does not intend to negate or absolve the United States of its violence against Indigenous nations, whose lands and lives it profoundly altered. The aim is to tell the Franco-American story and how it mattered more than we remember.

That NY times piece is wild. So two public facing, working women active in politics argued that Amy Coney Barrett is not qualified and shamed Erika Kirk for leaving her house. They also believe Nancy Mace should be at home having babies.

Here we go again. Was 2008 not painful enough for them?
"To obtain the capital they need, hyperscalers have leveraged a growing list of complex debt-financing options ... That shift is fueling speculation that A.I. investments are turning into a game of musical chairs whose financial instruments are reminiscent of the 2008 financial crisis."

Vibe shift.

It’s not an accident that the guy behind Died Suddenly also casually calls for “a final solution for the Jews.” A major vector for antisemitism today is “wellness” influencers. The same flawed logic that leads people to believe in a cabal, also leads people to believe one exists for vaccines.

The last 10 years of elections in the US tell us it isn't about being left, right, or center, nor is it about being too woke/not woke enough. It's always been about who more convincingly argues they can make life affordable.

In the year of our Lord 2025, it is and has always been, about the MONEY.

1/19 "God bless America" was written by a Jewish immigrant from Russia. He wasn't Christian. He wasn't born a U.S. citizen. He wrote the song about a country that gave hope to the weary.

Much of the Christian nation revision happened in the 1950s as a way to distinguish from "godless" countries.

The White House website with "Major Events Timeline" is bizarre. It's exclusively construction dates (informative and good to do), and then the entries deviate from construction and move into scandals and misleading content.

Frustrating experience. Many of you have followed my work on online harm for years. In a group discussion, there was a lack of understanding of harm and how to measure it. A man with no experience said, "Well, none of us here are really experts on this, so we shouldn't speak on it."
