At least we don’t live in a world of staggering class disparity in which a tech magnate attempts to quash left-wing sentiment using sexualized artificial intelligence!

there is a true nap and a false nap. the false nap is scheduled. a true nap must be taken when necessary. the false nap is timed. a true nap must be unfettered. the false nap's goal is to return to work. a true nap's goal is to play within the mind

So much of current popular online history discourse is really just an aesthetic exercise urging us to reconsider modernity, by people who think homeschooling their kids in Latin would magically unlock the ability to interpret both cuneiform and the Almagest

This is true and I was the only one on set excited about it (and playing the song on my phone to blank stares)
Just watched the new Knives Out and I think it's really important you know that the scene in the Seminary's Gym is filmed in the same place Rick Astley filmed the music video for Never Gonna Give You Up.

I saw the window tracery and immediately made my friends pause the film so I could tell them.

You might question her methods, but credit to Bari Weiss: her leadership has pushed 60 Minutes into new formats and attracted a bunch of new viewership outside the normal broadcast audience.
here's the 60 minutes cecot video part 1 of 5 - recorded/uploaded by and all credit to @jasonparis.bsky.social

I just reduced background noise, chopped the 14 minutes into 3 minute segments each compressed under 100 mb for bsky's limits, cropped and rotated a few degrees for easier viewing on here
