As anti-Labour media will always put words in her mouth, why not beat them to it:
"Yes it's true, Daily Mail readers, we are coming for you and your money because a) everyone else had to pay under the Tories b) Brexit screwed the poor c) you voted for both. Cheers, Rachel."

This is the only pertinent point to be made, really.
She is telling an accurate story of recent history - the triple punch of austerity, Brexit and covid. It's spot on. But it is terribly strange to say it now in government when you were not prepared to say it in opposition.

I'm beginning to wonder if the Tories' aping of Reform's worst ideas and Labour's cringing acceptance of them setting the narrative might actually be useful, as it forces Reform to ever-more extreme positions and Farage is starting to come unstuck: voted down on ECHR, backlash on interference /1

This above all, but everything else in the thread too

Given the party's refusal to act on Pochin's brazen racism, it should be as socially unacceptable to vote for Reform as it was in the early 2000s to vote for the BNP.
And we should be prepared to say this to people's faces.

An interesting pilot which shows once again that the way we need to think about implementing and using renewable energy and allied technologies is quite different from the fossil fuel mindset. It's much more connected and collaborative.
We have the results of a cool new trial out today, a collaboration between Nesta and OVO.
I'll put some key charts in a thread, but the tl;dr is:
- 58 customers let us operate their heat pump remotely
- We flexed the heat pumps to lower the cost of electricity
- Most people were fine with it

TBF, Kwarteng is definitely someone who should have learned something about defying economic reality
Sorry @theipaper.com but WHY is this guy talking to us about what will make the UK poorer? He was happy to grenade our economy twice…
Brexit and then his batshit budget with Truss.
He should be in political oblivion for the mess he made and the price we all have to pay for his party’s failures.
