I’m looking forward to the sequel, “Unemployed”, due in 2028.
notable but not surprising that Fetterman chose Fox & Friends as the place to promote his new book

Sub-prime car loans! I wonder what will happen when the defaults start rolling in? If only we had some kind of precedent to draw on.

Nobody could have predicted this. Of course the Thieves’ Guild wasn’t happy with laws requiring them not to steal stuff.

And this group includes 100% of the people in the US who feel those things. Everyone else thinks you are a senile asshole with a room temperature IQ motivated solely by imagined grievances and a gnawing hatred of anyone smarter than you, especially if they are Black.
Pirro: "Mr President, there is in this room a group of people who love you, who believe in you, and who are so proud to be in this Oval Office and to be part of this amazing day because you have changed the course of America."

What this guy is actually saying is that most ACA enrollees actually DO file a claim, and a huge number of them would not be able to afford to do so pre-ACA, because, and I cannot stress this enough, THAT IS WHY THE FUCKING ACA FUCKING EXISTS IN THE FUCKING FIRST FUCKING PLACE.
My wife and I pay for life insurance even though we have never died. I pay for fire insurance even though my house has never burned down. That's not because we want to throw money at insurance companies. It's because THAT'S HOW INSURANCE WORKS.

Hi America,

The surest way to make people leave religion, is to mandate it. The second you take your boot off their necks they will desert in droves.

Example: Brexitstan. Flag-shagging "ARE CRISTIAN CUNTRY" gammon? Never seen in church.

The Drafters knew this. It's there in The Federalist.

I have a Three Business account with 5 plans on it. I had one personal plan. The contract has now expired. I went to cancel.

Two separate agents have tried to sell me a new plan, send me an upgrade for the router that's in the skip, etc.

Just. Fucking. Cancel. It.

Spamming cunt Mike Randell (mike@southamptionbusinessexpo.com) spammed me again today. No idea what he said, because I just emptied my spam folder.

Don't be a spamming loser like mike@southamptionbusinessexpo.com.

The horror! A memorial acknowledged that Black people served the US even before the Civil Rights era!

Can't have that, can we? It's a studied insult to the myth of America as a white Christian country.
1/ The US Government has quietly removed a memorial to Black soldiers who died in World War II from the Netherlands American Cemetery in Margraten, South Limburg. The move follows a complaint from the right-wing Heritage Foundation to the American Battle Monuments Commission. ⬇️

Reminder: Chuck Schumer is not just a name, it’s a call to action.
Hard to see @schumer.senate.gov being able to stay in leadership after this or in the senate, he was not the man for this moment

Vale, Quentin “Count Quentula” Willson. A legendary motoring journalist, part of the OG Top Gear, later proponent of #StopBurningStuff with @bobbyllew.bsky.social

This is genuinely sad. He was a top man, and put in the work (not a bloviating twat like Clarkson).

Anyone who said, even five years ago, that the US would have unidentified federal officers in plain clothes and unmarked cars, with their faces concealed, abducting people based on race, with no warrant, would have been derided by Republicans as hysterical.

James Watson’s most important discovery was Rosalind Franklin’s notebook.
What a great obit, all the more poignant knowing the author herself has passed too [can read w/ free sign up]

There’s so much to say about the Watson phenomenon; embodied now by people like Dawkins. A reminder great scientists have very human flaws, prone to contrarianism and bias; ie poor science
A Sharon Begley byline, almost 5 years after her death.

Upon hearing the news James Watson had died, a STAT reporter said in our Slack, "I wish I could read what Sharon would have written."

Incredible news: Sharon in fact did pre-write a Watson obit. And it is masterful and excoriating.

Alex Karp and Peter Thiel are two of the worst people on this planet running one of the most evil companies to ever exist—we should do whatever we can to make Palantir go bankrupt.

All you have to do is launch a crypto grift and then deregulate crypto grifts and stop prosecuting crypto scammers. Americans just won’t the effort in.

The absurdity should be obvious. Musk is paid 20x the entire salary of the rest of Tesla’s employees, yet Musk is single handedly responsible for its plummeting sales.
Elon Musk is now the highest paid CEO on the planet his $100bn a year for 10 years deal is 2,500,000x the wage of his average employee

In fact it's 20x the entire wage bill for all 125,000 of Tesla's other employees

For comparison World Hunger could be cured for $37-50bn a year
