This week my best entertainment was theatre, but fear not, it was a live version of a TV show! A dive into Inside No. 9, disappointment with Stranger Things and Wicked, and love for The Death of Bunny Munro and The Chair Company. What a week in Fancy Falls!

A Friday bump for my latest post, on my love for Inside No. 9 live. Let me know if you've seen it too!

Or if you've been similarly devastated by The Death of Bunny Munro...

I'm considering leaving behind my trusty HMV for Doctor Who The Collection ordering thanks to the Rarewaves 10% off...

Yay or nay to Rarewaves, never having used them?

Not only is this very funny, it's how I found out Season 21 is on pre-order!
I think I'm going to hold off on the Who Season 21 box set until we're able to confirm it doesn't contain anything unexpectedly awful like AI changes, only expectedly awful things like Warriors of the Deep

As it'll be December tomorrow, your annual reminder that Klaus on Netflix is the best Christmas film of the last couple of decades & should be as much of a standard in your house as the Muppets or George Bailey. Looks great, really funny & will make you do a lovely big old sob.

Me: Yes, don’t you think that none of these things are strange, and are actually quite repetitive and derivative?

I'm now partway into series 2 of Juice, and love the changes they've made. More surreal and sillier will always work for me.
I was very wrong when I first watched Juice, and have rather loved it since starting again with it. What TV show have you gone back to that's gone better? Also excellent Pluribus and The Chair Company and my first Christmas film recommendation!

Had the most brilliant day out in Edinburgh yesterday, culminating in a cracking (and sawing and mugging and kidnapping) night of comedy horror at the theatre.

Agreed, had a brilliant time!
Well that was pretty sensational.

Hamnet features a stunning use of a now-familiar piece of music in its heart-aching climax, but it also signals a tipping point. Hollywood, you can now no longer use Max Richter's On the Nature of Daylight in movies or TV.

I wrote about it for @avclub.com!

It's time to give "On The Nature Of Daylight" a rest
"On The Nature Of Daylight" is becoming a cheap needledrop, and Hamnet's finale might be the last time a filmmaker can get away with it.

Watched Wicked ahead of taking my mum to see For Good tomorrow. Genuinely quite disheartening to see a bunch of terrific performances and obvious craft wasted by indifferent directing.

Do not - I repeat - do NOT, even out of curiosity, pull the handle on the side of your toilet. I just did, and a gush of water’s erased everything. A lifetime’s turd collection, gone.
