Wrote some thoughts on how brilliant the feature length Star Trek: Starfleet Academy pilot was. Despite it's YA leanings, this is a show that has something for everyone.

A republish or an interview I conducted last year with the brilliant and imaginative Jonathan Morris to tie into our Anachrophobia discussion this week. Here he talks about all of his Doctor Who books to date.

What makes Deep Space Nine the best of the Star Trek series? Join David & I here as we figure it out!
On the last in the present series @felixfrazer.bsky.social joins me to discuss what some would consider to be the very pinnacle of Star Trek.

No… it’s not Doctor Who. It’s Star Trek Deep Space Nine!

Clickbait TV news sites will have a headline like "CULT 80'S BRITISH DRAMA DROPS NEW EPISODE TONIGHT" and you'll scroll down three miles of text to find out there's an episode of Emmerdale on.

Regular as clockwork, it's another of @docoho44.bsky.social and I's forays into the Sabbath arc
Appropriately for a story about time going rewinding, Anachrophobia gets a second airing on the book club but this time with focus on the Sabbath arc as Joe & @markdonaldson.bsky.social continue to explore the time travel horror in the second half of the EDAs...

I think this is one of the reasons I shout louder about the positives of Starfleet Academy/the Jodie Whittaker era of Doctor Who/any other fuckin' thing that winds these cellar dwelling homunculuses up. However, that's also bad for criticism and artistic appreciation.

Love how Nahla Ake gives not a shit about modern Star Trek's austere approach to the centre seat.

Stressful day. Mice in the house and Billy collected enough cheese tax to support an entire cheese hospital. Holes in the skirting blocked up. Dog tummy gurgling but unexploded, sat with his far more responsible mother. Taking myself up to bed with a whisky and a book.

I love that a real "Conversational Klingon" course (like the one released by Simon and Schuster in late 1992 ➡️) now also exists in the #StarTrek universe, as seen in the #StarfleetAcademy episode "Kids These Days"⬅️. :-)
