As we’re about to head into the final third of the Jodie era, we just wanted to say a big thanks to all the comments, retweets and likes over the last six months.

And fear not, @jeffgoddard.bsky.social and I have some exciting plans for when this era is over…

Hard-pressed to think of anything I've seen recently that's as dour, joyless or grindingly one-note as SPRINGSTEEN: DELIVER ME FROM NOWHERE. Scene after scene of Jeremy Allen White staring endlessly off into space, with all the suggestive mysteries of the Nebraska album reduced to sad daddy issues.

This made my morning. Comprehensive, funny, inspiring, and by the end, oddly, genuinely moving. Absolutely worth your time.

Back to the magical realms, where we discover the importance of clear communication and understand a little more why one of the group is even friends with the rest. Not sure why the Care Bears' less cute cousins had to get involved, though....

Haven't seen the new Springsteen biopic yet, but this is one of my favourite covers of his songs. It got me through the summer and I return to it often.

Horror Express (1972) is a terrific Anglo-Spanish science fiction/horror hybrid about a body-hopping alien wreaking havoc on a train with excellent performances from Christopher Lee, Peter Cushing and Telly Savalas among others.

Mulder’s back with a brand new mission,
Someone grabs a hold him tightly
Wriggles like a Space Worm daily and nightly
Will it ever stop? Yo, I don't know
Put it in tequila, and it’ll glow

It’s Ice, Ice, baby…
X-Files Ice, Ice, baby…

Porto, Portugal: nice city, nicer people. And a bit steeper and hillier than expected! Lots of good food, lovely mosaic tiles on many of the pavements. Make sure you try the pastéis de nata.

I can personally attest that French Dalek dubbing makes for.. interesting results. Some versions replace "Exterminer" with "Extermination!", thereby adding an extra syllable. Others make the Daleks sound extra sassy, or like moody teenagers. Some deepen the voice so much it's almost like slow-mo.
"EX-TER-MIN-ER!"
