Waiting for Guffman: been ages since I last watched this and so it was a real joy to rediscover it. Everyone in it is hilarious, but what makes it really special is how Guest and Levy, despite the fun they have at their characters’ expense, do let them triumph in their own, mildly delusional way.

Oh man, I wonder what'll happen when Schrader finds out you can already make films in 2-3 weeks with zero budget and without anyone's permission. And even the worst of them will be more worthwhile than whatever slop Aronofsky and Avary will spew forth.

It’s my dad’s birthday today and I’ve been helping him and my mum set up for his party. Having two chefs for parents really pays off sometimes.
