Also most voters have just never thought remotely seriously about policy. “Should we get rid of illegal immigrants? Well, of course; they’re illegal!” There’s nothing deeper than that going on until they start seeing what that actually entails.
Some Dems and pundits overread the significance of Trump's win. They looked at dissatisfaction with the border and discerned a seismic cultural reaction to immigration levels inside the country. The former was real. The latter is a mirage.

Rahaeli is 100% here. People have no idea how bad unmoderated internet spaces can be and I really, really wish everyone with strong opinions on T&S or modding had to experience it, but also, it's legit traumatic and exposing everyone to that is not good.

I sometimes genuinely do wish people could have the experience of seeing what gets reported and taken down so they could viscerally understand what an unmoderated space on the internet looks like, because however bad you can imagine it is, the reality is far worse.
