This is kind of the key problem: You've got to sit down and deal with the history of where you're from, good bad and ugly, and a lot of people regardless of region just don't do that, which is an issue when you're from a place that lost a war it started because it wanted to own people.

Yeah, they've forgotten that the 'big tent' is meant to describe the voters, not the figureheads. You may need some of the people who'd vote for MTG to vote for you; that does not mean you need to embrace MTG herself.
