In 1776 William Knox had in his possession a gorget that had once displayed the coat of arms of the British monarch. Over this symbol of autocratic rule someone stamped the Latin phrase INIMICA TYRANNIS - “hostile to tyrants”

I think they could get some of the partisan on board if they messaged "we never expected them to stop funding SNAP because that's illegal so we got a year of SNAP funding and a short CR so that we can keep negotiating without Americans starving" but instead they're straight up saying they gave up.

Just told my 10yo daughter about #ChuckSchumer. She had tears in her eyes. And then she did the Wakanda pose and said "#Chuckanda forever"—which is the sort of pop culture cross-over I can celebrate.

Honestly, I do think it’ll have to be a governor on the ticket in 2028 because earned or not, everyone in Congress will have loser energy vibes as an unavoidable side effect of being in the minority under Trump.

I think what really gets me is that the traitors *could* be selling this as "holiday ceasefire to get Feds and SNAP out of the line of fire."
But they're not.
They're explicitly saying "we were cowards who wanted to surrender and don't see the point in fighting."
And that's just malpractice.

i genuinely do think that even like, an additional week would have created incredible psychodrama within the white house
He’s about to stroke out from all the pressure and I cannot stop thinking about how the dem senate gave him a way out of half of it lol
lmfao he knows he's unpopular so he's trying to hit the affordability button by sending out checks with his name on it again

its funny because the people who actually whipped votes here were shaheen, hassan, and king… not the minority leader. i think schumer did what he normally does - once the votes were there, he joined the defectors to negotiate the best outcome for his caucus (protecting the people up for election)
I think Schumer basically got rolled by Shaheen, Hassan, and King which is profoundly embarrassing
idk which possibility is more damning for Schumer
either
A) he helped orchestrate the fold
OR
B) he genuinely opposed the fold but was so incompetent that he was unable to stop the splinter group from folding
