I have a new book coming out Step. 23rd! Full description at the link, but my elevator pitch to my writing chat was "what if a guy time travels to the present but he sort of sucks and has to learn how to be a feminist and also he looks like Robb Stark?"

Time For You
No love like the present What happens when a twenty-first-century woman falls for a nineteenth-century man? It’s up to destiny in a witty, captivating, and totally unexpected time-travel romance. D…

Personally, I will be trying to avoid the notice of Joyce Carol Oates and Kendrick Lamar for the rest of my natural life
I need Joyce Carol Oates to be mean to me online so I can get my life together

This reminds me of when my 8th grade class (at a Catholic school) got in a fair bit of trouble with the priest when a classmate blithely told him communion was just a "representation" of Jesus's body and blood, and not the real thing, and then most of the class nodded in agreement. (bear with me) 🧵
James Bond’s death in No Time to Die is causing a nightmare for the next film. Writers are stuck because Bond “was blown to pieces.”

Anthony Horowitz, author of three 007 novels, says:

“You can't have him wake up in shower and saying it was all a dream."

Authors, Beware! There's a firm called "ClaimsHero" doing aggressive social media outreach claiming to
"help" you file to get $ in the Anthropic class action. In fact, it's a bait-and-switch, they are luring authors to sign up with them, then OPTING THEM OUT of the class action so they'll get zilch.

If Disney wants to hire me to write "The Mummy (1999) but Star Wars" I'm available and boy do I have IDEAS
ironically what makes star wars stuff best is when it is 'something else, but also star wars'

e.g. Andor, a British political thriller but also Star Wars
the Mandalorian, an episode-of-the-week Western but also Star Wars (when it was good)

Anyway I know this has been said already but they require this fantasy of love from computers precisely because they have warped themselves into such selfish and repugnant creatures that they’re incapable of eliciting love from real human beings.

Once again: this is not what “feminism” means.
JUSTICE AMY CONEY BARRETT:

“Being a conservative woman in a law school, particularly, takes a lot of courage and independence, and in many ways shows more feminism than just falling into some predetermined vision of what a woman should be.”

Great news! Because of a recent court order, November SNAP benefits for Wisconsin recipients were made available overnight. Members should feel free to use the funds as they normally would.

What led me to discover this was turned on for me was this post (by someone who is *not* a mutual, but it was labeled "rude" and I got curious)

...it's not even mildly impolite????

No one wants to talks about the Second Wave without caveats, but the Second Wave liberals were responsible for a decades-long march of legal changes to civil rights and family law that allowed women to work in public as men’s formal equals, and that’s what these people are undoing.

The University of Minnesota just announced the "Meal-A-Day Program" which will provide one meal a day for SNAP benefit recipients while the SNAP program is limited or unavailable. This makes me very happy. A lot of students, faculty, and staff at the U need this, unfortunately.

idk meta has been SURE that what I want, more than anything else in this world, is maternity yoga clothes and (judging by my suggested reels) to divorce my husband

I am neither pregnant nor experiencing marital strife, but sure, this is great
Meta's AI plan is to automatically create personalized advertisements for companies that are different for different users, further siloing people

Zuckerberg says advertisers will "be able to give us a business objective and a credit card" and AI will do the rest

The Future of Advertising Is AI Generated Ads That Are Directly Personalized to You
"Advertisers are increasingly just going to be able to give us a business objective and give us a credit card or bank account, and have the AI system basically figure out everything else."

Johnson: "If they had no filibuster, they would pack the SCOTUS. You'd go from 9 to 17 or however many liberals they could pack. You would make DC & Puerto Rico into states, which would give 4 additional Democrat senators & make us a permanent minority. You'd see massive restrictions of 2A rights"

Meanwhile, we have a 60-something neighbor who is (like me) a white woman and (like me) a native english speaker. She has called the city on us (for "having too many weeds in our boulevard" and for "replacing a fence") and has also, on occasion, *deliberately kicked over our trash cans*
Vance says it is "totally reasonable and acceptable" for people to not want to live next door to people who speak a different language than they do
