I can save Target Corporate a lot of training headaches. Speaking for all lifelong Upper Midwesterners of Scandinavian descent, we do not want any employees smiling at us, asking us about our day, or approaching us in any way, unless we're having some kind of medical emergency.
"Store employees are now required to smile if they are within 10 feet of a shopper.

They also must make eye contact with and wave to or greet the customer.

If they’re within four feet, the employee should ask how the customer’s day is going or if they need help."

🙄 Won't stop the boycott, y'all.
Target is now requiring its employees to smile more
As the holiday season fast approaches, Target is urging its employees to add a little more “jolly” to their work routine.

Rock and roll is alive, and it lives in your local public library! Prince themed library cards at Hennepin County libraries! This is not a drill! While supplies last!

Everybody wants to celebrate the boys being back in town, nobody wants to examine the circumstances that forced the boys to leave in the first place.

A new restaurant called Two For Tripping is moving into the old Annie's Parlour spot. It will be an espresso and breakfast spot with a hockey theme, apparently. I'm glad its not a chain. Keep Dinkytown interesting!

Having a unique ORCID identifier is one way for academics to distinguish themselves from other researchers with the same name, but a far simpler solution would be for the bigger one to consume the smaller one.

I really enjoy this interstitial time with some maple trees in the fall, when they still have some green leaves along with red, orange, and yellow. Beautiful.
