Imagine killing 600,000 black and brown people with a few keystrokes and not having a care in the world but one little old white lady drags you on Twitter and you spiral for a week.

Katie Wilson won 55.57% of today's ballot drop, giving her a 91 vote lead over incumbent Bruce Harrell out of 272,041 ballots tallied so far in Seattle's mayoral race. So... she likely wins.

Nationally, every single one of Zohran Mamdani's policies has higher "strong support" than "strong opposition." But tell me again how pro-worker policies only work in NYC.

Good news, from where I'm sitting. Among other things, Fuleihan played a big role in getting universal pre-kindergarten pushed through quickly, against a conventional wisdom that it would take years.

Fetterman was KNOWABLE from jump. I'm telling you, and I'm no prophet or magician. I just listened to people that trust fund Republican Reaganite jagoff hurt along his journey.
I also think about...from Pgh...

If anyone had listened to Black, disabled, queer, and/or fat folks in Pittsburgh who encountered and experienced Fetterman... it would have been obvious from jump, there, too.

No conspiracy is necessary.

Just talk to the people they fuck over on the come up.

one thing i do remember is that the republican party, before it went MAGA, was too weak to keep MAGA from taking it over. remember trump steamrolling all of those guys and now he tells them what to do and the worst elements of his base are in charge. democrats seem that weak now too. no control

It really does suck how politics attracts so many creeps. However, if we had much more organizing/infrastructure to bring along a pipeline of people we’d have way more trustworthy options and would probably end up with fewer of these risky choices
i think an especially depressing part of this whole saga is that "we need to win primaries so establishment dems are replaced by true progressives" is a thing we've done before but one of the progressives we worked hard to install over the establishment pick was fetterman

Important to understand this. There's a reasonable chance that your Dem Senator who voted against it and is acting mad now was in on the play. It's the same reason why they scheduled the surrender for AFTER the election this week. They didn't want people pissed at Dems right before an election.
The caucus meeting was just to orchestrate who would fall on the sword but not be up for a vote in 2026.
so currently defectors are:

Kaine (2030)
Shaheen (Retiring)
Hasan (2028)
Fetterman (2028)
Durbin (Retiring)
CCM (2028)
Rosen (2030)
