The last NFL game with a scoreless first half, oddly, also involved Josh Jacobs. MIN @ LV, 12-10-2023, Dobbs/Mullens vs O'Connell at QB. Only score in the game was a MIN FG with 1:57 left.

Before that, you have to go to 1pm on that same day. HOU@NYJ. www.pro-football-reference.com/boxscores/20...

Deeply grateful that I have no remaining fantasy football games this week dependent on anyone scoring points tonight.

Earlier today, I posted a link to a cert petition by Rep. Alan Grayson involving a defamation lawsuit for which cert was denied today. As @percyjones.bsky.social noted, I linked to the wrong version of the case. This iteration involved mundane issues involving an attorneys fees award against him.

Let's be clear: Giuliani lost his Bar licenses because he lied in court and other official settings about the integrity of the 2020 election in Pennsylvania, not because of anything having to do with the electors.

Hope y'all like Mueller's and Ronzoni, folks. (It also looks like Barilla is made here, except for their superior Al Bronzo line.)

This is going to derail any plans he had to attend law school, which would be a Kafka, Esq. twist.
Giants OC Mike Kafka has been named New York's interim head coach, per source.

Interesting (maybe only to me) that Rep. Scott Perry (R-PA) was not on the pardons list last night.

I would really today to be the day that we can start talking openly about the GBBO finale, but if folks still are trying to avoid spoilers I want to be deferential.
Tomorrow can we start discussing the GBBO finale openly? I'm never really sure what the appropriate spoiler window is on streaming shows.
What is the spoiler window for discussing reality show finales on social media for a streaming program? I think ... Sunday, we can discuss openly?

This mail-in ballot deadline case presented two crap options: (a) let stand a bad 5th Cir decision strip state autonomy to extend ballot receipt deadlines in three states, or (b) appeal it, with the chance of (1) reversing it or (2) making bad law across all remaining states.
SCOTUS has granted certiorari in a case asking whether states can still choose to accept and count mail-in ballots which are postmarked by Election Day, as long as they are received soon thereafter, or whether federal law mandates E-Day receipt in federal races. www.supremecourt.gov/search.aspx?...

One of my longtime fantasy football mantras, which I've dubbed the Jimmy Smith Rule, is that owners underrate the draft value of players with boring names versus players whose names are closer to the Key and Peele East-West Bowl sketch.

And my goodness does Jonathan Taylor qualify.
I'm fully convinced the Falcons front 7 can't see Jonathan Taylor. Like, physically can't see him.

32 carries, 244 yards, 3 TDs. MVP talk.

Colts 31, Falcons 25.

One of Brooklyn's finest, and a rare triple-inductee into the Pro Basketball Hall of Fame (player, then coach, then Dream Team assistant coach). I believe Jerry West is the only other (player, 1960 Olympic Team, executive).

The only reason you get Trump in the booth is the non-zero chance he'd repeat the Howard Cosell/Alvin Garrett incident which led to his leaving Monday Night Football in 1983. www.washingtonpost.com/archive/spor...
Trump is in the booth on Fox's NFL broadcast attacking Biden. Woof for all involved.

A normal society would react to this by introducing regulations to prop betting or rolling back accessibility to online betting

Instead we'll just get a new TV spinoff, Law & Order: Sports Investigation
HT to @dansuitor.bsky.social; the DOJ indictment against Clase and Ortiz has been unsealed. Not only were they rigging pitches for outside bettors based on Ball/Strike and pitch speed over/unders; they were sometimes betting on their own rigged pitches.

I just checked PACER and there's nothing yet docketed in the Eastern District of New York, nor does there appear to be a press release from the EDNY USAO. Be patient.
Breaking news per Jeff Passan: “Cleveland Guardians pitchers Emmanuel Clase and Luis Ortiz have been indicted by prosecutors in Brooklyn on a host of charges related to a scheme to rig bets on pitches thrown in MLB games. Ortiz was arrested in Boston earlier today. Clase is not currently in custody”

My 🧵 on last night's Rock Hall inductions. It's on Disney+. Go watch the segments on the artists you love, which for me were Warren Zevon (RIP), OutKast, Salt-N-Pepa, and Cyndi Lauper receiving their flowers, though last night confirmed no one should cover God Only Knows or Seven Nation Army. 1/
