Feels like I’ve garnered a few new followers on here recently (do you garner followers? It feels like an underused verb and I’m feeling linguistically jaunty today) so here is a quick thread of what you should be expecting from the D20 Future Show:

As we see so regularly , it is always the teenage girls fault , mix that with political cowardice that is driven by “but what will the Daily Mail say if we do something humane” and we have a system desperate to appease the worst of us, and to utterly ignore those who dare to empathise

A wise man once said “If you had a calculator that was right 90% of the time you would throw it away”. If you had a calculator that might make it more likely for your teenage son to commit suicide, you would burn it on a fire.
i don’t see how any of the benefits of chatgpt and other consumer-facing LLMs can possibly outweigh their incredible ability to induce suicides

The whole point of the metaphor is that you can’t pull yourself up by your own bootstraps.
Casual reminder that the myth of “pulling yourself up by your bootstraps” is a cruel hoax designed to convince poor people from all walks of life that the injustices they face are a result of their own actions, rather than an oppressive system rigged against them.

obsessed with this giant pack of duty free cigarettes i got for Christmas this year. it contains ten packs of Swiss cigs. i don't even smoke but the whole product is just so beautiful. this Christmas, remember: smoking kills!
