It used to be that you had to visit dedicated fan forums to find people who hated a given piece of media. Now even mentioning the thing summons them to you.
The current structures of the internet give the most toxic elements of any broad community (fandoms/politics/hobbies etc) the ability to control the public experience of it.
It takes work to carve out non toxic spaces. It all seems not great to me!

My favourite oasis song? Well there aren't many, but I'd have to say Midnight at the Oasis. Maria who? No the Brand New Heavies version. I wouldn't exactly call them rock and roll stars, but they do it for me. Galaga? No I was more a Space Invaders kid.
