She/Her at long last. Death before detransition.
Pinned
Crossposting: So I'm trans and a lesbian and guess I should say something. I figured out what I was when I was a child, and still remember the moment, but didn't think I'd ever be able to do anything about it. Finally found a way, but it took decades. Never too late. Live and love as yourself
There's a difference between “starting HRT will mean I go no contact with my middle-aged parents” and “starting HRT will mean I don't get to see my kids and won't be welcome at my parents' funerals” that can't be ignored. It's never been easier because it used to be fucking impossible
"oh but the times are so inopportune maybe I'll just defer transition until it's easier" even if we ignore the fact that exempting like 2008-2024 this is still the easiest time in human history to transition, do you seriously think this is all gonna be more survivable on the wrong hormonal profile??

As my transition makes its way to year four I realize just how much my Mother's daughter I actually am, and the struggles I saw cis women having with that in their twenties is hitting me along with going through my second puberty well past them going through menopause. Not complaining, just noting

I am a mother of three children living in a torn tent that cannot protect us from cold or rain. My children’s small bodies shiver and their hearts ache 💔 We need a new tent, warm clothes, and education to restore hope amid this pain 📚❄️ We humbly ask your kind hearts to donate 🙏

People often think that $5 is too small to matter. But when a child is sick, $5 can mean survival. It can be the difference between sleeping hungry or having a warm meal, between pain and relief. What feels insignificant in your daily life can become a lifeline for My family

Siri's Chef's Secret in Greenbelt. Cozy and lovely Thai restaurant. Good, solid Tom Yum soup and green curry. I was a regular, and felt at home with every visit

A cool thing about stenographers is that they, over the course of a career, build up a personal dictionary.

There are pre-made ones, but those are basically the base. Each stenographer is gonna have a different set of commonly used words, phrases, to expand.

If you live in the Cities, an easy way to help immigrant families in hiding is: laundry! Laundromats are ICE magnets, so people without washers need help.

The People’s Laundry will drop off laundry to your door to wash and dry and pick up a few days later:

Yeah, Billy's had a few DUIs, sure, but he says he knows the way home from the bar; give him the keys
Deleted a QT dunk because the dunkee was a smol bean but folks, if you’re still thinking in terms of “lib”/“left”, your thoughts are just irrelevant.

The only categories are “fight” and “surrender.” Bill Kristol is for fighting: he’s with us. Gavin Newsom’s for surrendering: he’s enemy. That’s all.

No surprise to librarians, but perhaps surprising to users, demands/prices for ebooks /audiobooks are killing public library budgets. David Szalay's book, Flesh,” costs DCPL:
$28.99 hardcopy
$59.99 ebook
$69.99 audiobook
DCPL owns hardcopy; rents & must repurchase ebook & audio book every 2 yrs.
Libraries can't afford e-books. D.C. lawmakers have a plan.
The demand and price for e-books is up — and it’s busting the D.C. Public Library budget.

I was a spy in the House of Men for quite a while, so yeah I saw a lot of shit, but since I preferred to socialize with women I spent a lot of time with the Little Sisters of the Patriarchy and saw a lot of shit there too
girls will seriously be like "are a lot of men really like that? cuz when I was a man I wasn't like that" and you'll stare at them and then they'll take a whole minute before going OHHHHHHHHH

Let me lose my cool for a bit.

This shit is so insulting; I grew up next to an interstate (which contributed to my asthma) and under a La Guardia flight path. Amadou Diallo was killed by my local police precinct.

And none of this bullshit resonates with me at all. This is so fucking condescending.

About 1,500 soldiers w/ 11th Airborne Division in Alaska have been placed on prepare-to-deploy orders with a mission in Minnesota in mind, defense officials tell me tonight. Unclear if some or all of them ultimately will go.

News reported tonight by ABC News, too.

Three years ago I got footage of a sheriff's deputy beating a trans man who flipped him off while driving past

This month, the now-ex-deputy (already convicted after feds found a massive cover-up) had his policing certification revoked. He can't be a cop anymore in California:
