The BOP is "still exploring the feasibility of Alcatraz," the agency's deputy director told staff recently.

This screenshot is from an internal email with some of the staff questions and his responses:

Aside from being short on COs - who are leaving for ICE in droves - the federal prison system is also apparently short on staff psychologists.

More than 1/3 of staff psych positions are unfilled now, per @themarshallproject.org www.themarshallproject.org/2026/01/26/m...
Amid ‘Catastrophic’ Shortage, Psychologists Flee Federal Prisons in Droves
With fewer and fewer employees to run the prisons, psychologists were repeatedly forced to act as guards.

I've asked BOP how many of their tactical guys are inMN as well as whether they have any comment on how or why their officer is standing outside this hotel with a bloody hand and mouth. This was their response.

(They declined to comment and referred me to ICE.)

Minneapolis, MN -

One press member offered medical assistance to the FPS agent with a “less lethal” launcher standing in front of the hotel. I asked him if he could tell us what happened to his nose (it’s visibly bloody and he’s spitting out blood).

His response: “no.”

Sonya's longtime friend now fears now that she'll be cut off from speaking to her, that the incident will harm Sonya when she's up for parole. Sonya, when I spoke to her, was focused on the cats.

The cats, OJ especially, noticed Sonya's absence. Sonya is being charged with "solicitation." TDCJ claims that Sonya, a prison volunteer, and Sonya's friend, all broke prison rules by giving a volunteer a phone number to give to the vet.

After the GoFundMe - organized by a friend and her daughter, not Sonya - blew up, officials at TDCJ asked Sonya for statements but insisted she wasn't in trouble. Days later, she was in solitary, with none of her belongings, including her religious items.
