To put this in scale, Elon Musk's salary from Tesla alone could fund the SNAP program for the entire country into 2034.
Tesla CEO Elon Musk scored a resounding victory on Thursday as shareholders approved a pay package of as much as $878 billion over the next decade, endorsing his vision of morphing the EV maker into an AI and robotics juggernaut.

D.C. and its residents deserve freedom — and democracy, Robert Barton writes.

The formerly incarcerated writer is the founder of More Than Our Crimes, through which we published this opinion piece on what he took away from a recent experience lobbying on Capitol Hill.
Opinion: What I learned about democracy walking the halls of Congress
In seven short months, I had gone from being among the “dregs” of society to getting an audience with the people who help make this country’s laws.

A neat tool I just came across: Viabundus, a digital road map of northern Europe 1350-1650, that lets you calculate contemporary travel routes/times. In 1500, going Amiens → Köln by horse took almost 7 days and 13 toll payments.

The #NoKings march in DC was large, vocal, &, as I overheard a fellow marcher say, the "most considerate group of people I've ever met." Sad to see snipers on the roof of the National Gallery of Art, & speakers behind what I assume was bulletproof glass.

Also, the sandwich made an appearance.
