Multiply this trauma over the thousands of health care workers worldwide. Worst for the frontline, but hard for some of us trying to coordinate in the community with even less resources. Many of us have secondary trauma as well. It fades, but never disappears, and pops up whenever. 1/2
I still have nightmares about that shift.

I have nightmares about the night after that, when I had the moment of horror upon realizing that I was taking care of someone I had known for 30 years at that point, and whose children I was friends with…

Healthcare is a basic human right.

Food is basic human right.

Education, housing, clean air & water are human rights.

Using healthcare and food as leverage should be grounds for removal from office.

SNAP, Medicaid and the ACA are worth fighting for.

People will die without them.

In this ridiculously wealthy country. It's so wrong.

It’s hard to believe but there was a cartoon about an immigrant mouse and it was seen as totally fine and not controversial and not woke because it was an aspirational and nice thing about America that people could come here and find a better life

Young people in NYC absolutely showed out and there should be 1000 articles and profiles about this. Because we have had to put up with 1000 MAGA diner stories for years now.

Tom Hanks explains to Stephen Colbert why he masks on the subway:

"I'm doing a play right now so I cannot get sick... I've had COVID enough in my life, I don't need to do that again. So I'm wearing this for health reasons."

Thank you Tom! Masks are still a key part of public health.

The hair on my head has thinned in the last six weeks to where my pony tail is half what it used to be. Started looking at options for wearing scarves - have to work on how to a) not look like a pirate, b) not look like I'm religious. I guess I'll aim for middle aged hippie.

“It’s hard imagining that Gatsby & those who partied at his house every night would’ve missed out on the kind of get-rich-quick schemes of the crypto & AI booms had they existed back then. It’s just as hard to imagine that our current Roaring ’20s is going to end any better than theirs did in 1929.”

The irony of the Great Gatsby party at Mar-a-Lago was lost on the attendees - so many people missed the point of the book. It's not about the glitz and the glamour. It's about moral decay, delusion, and the empty promises of the American Dream.

'No one had the slightest idea what the book was about': Why The Great Gatsby is the world's most misunderstood novel
F Scott Fitzgerald's The Great Gatsby is synonymous with glitz and glamour but this is just one of many myths that have surrounded the book since its first publication in April 1925.
