Also: if their actions were consistent with their rhetoric then they would proudly display a Machine Made label.

Which tells you they know this shit blows, and you hate it too, and there is literally no path to profitability on a project they burned hundreds of billions on already.

People have no idea how little it takes to move the needle a little bit for a writer. I didn’t know this, but it tracks with what I know.

Promote the Hell out of the things you love. The more obscure the better.
I once asked a bookseller at a large indie store how many people would have to buy a book for it to get the attention of the store buyer and cause an additional order and they said: Three.
I see some book piracy discourse, and, to make a positive argument in favor of buying books, your marginal ability to influence what books get published and support the careers of writers you like is massive compared to most other forms of media.

BREAKING: This is huge news, the EU's equivalent of the 🇺🇸Supreme Court's 2015 Obergefell v. Hodges ruling.

🇪🇺Court of Justice just ruled all 🇪🇺countries must recognise same-sex marriages granted in other member states.

This effectively legalises gay marriage across 🇪🇺

This has been bothering me a lot lately, but on a broader scope. People are afraid to be original. Critiques are all the same, jokes are copy/pasted, opinions use a handful of buzzwords that don't actually describe anything. It's like drowning in a sea of masks that all wear the same face.
One of the producers on Guilty Gear Strive said it was basically impossible to source player feedback on balance changes online because nobody had original opinions and would just parrot what the most popular content creators said and so they had to rely on data and I think about that every day.

Ordered a new bathroom vanity from the home improvement store last weekend. The estimated delivery date was the 19th. Every time I checked the store's app, it said "expected delivery: Nov 19"

By 6pm it hadn't kicked over to 'available' and I didn't receive an email. So I called the store.

Pretty much all affordability discourse could benefit from just posting this chart.

If you're in the better off America, all the luxury goods you want in excess are for the most part much cheaper. If you're in the poorer America, most of the shit you need to live/grow is more expensive.

thing about autism is if you work really hard for many years, you can learn through trial-and-error how to navigate social situations and interpersonal connections SO effectively that people don't really believe you're autistic anymore and resent you for not being perfect at nonverbal communication

this is the way. also clip studio has ribbon brushes which is like one of the best digital art tools ive ever used on top of the brush engine just generally being better than photoshop's
I did it. After a year of using clip studio for my Patreon rewards and client projects I deleted photoshop after continuous used for the past 20 years (jfc)

Not only was the price insane, the ethics questionable, but it’s such a bloated piece of hardware it was crashing constantly

And we knew this. This wasn't speculation. We studied it, we had the talking points. We trained volunteers to explain this to people. It's not a surprise. Rich people don't flee places with good quality of life when we increase the quality of life. They might try to cheat us, but they don't leave.
NEW: The first two years of Massachusetts' millionaire tax has raised $3 billion more than expected.

And rather than driving the rich away, IPS researchers found that the number of millionaires has *increased.*

Tax the rich. Greg Ryan in @bloomberg.com:

I knew Harlander looked familiar, but I could not for the life of me figure out why until I looked at the cast list!

Every few weeks we gotta make posts like this”call your dem reps to tell them to not vote to allow Lord Killdude to shove people into a volcano” and then the dem reps go “we’ve made an amazing deal where Lord Killdude can have his volcano so long as he promises not to shove people into it”

All through school we US kids were told that we live in a representative democracy, not a direct democracy.

Because in a direct democracy regular people would need to spend all their time voting on individual issues.

Can we maybe like give that a shot though

The Mamdani sign generator is an op to make us hate the iconography of a socialist win as quickly as possible by flooding the zone with absolutely unfunny nothing.

It is the weapon of our enemy and we do not need it. We will not use it.
