Been playing this for review. As a South African, I am so glad it's out soon. Not only is it a fantastic heist game, but it's genuinely educational, balancing celebrating Africa's history with righteous condemnation of colonialism. My full review will be up later this week. Well done @nyamakop.co.za

Really love that @gamersheroes.bsky.social points out one of the fun things the unit merging system allows: "Want to merge poison damage with a gunslinger? You got it. Want a rocket launcher that heals units? That’ll do!" It's really the heart of the game, tbh!

we won’t be intimidated because they don’t deserve our fear
Another classic post-Homan day where around school dismissal time we get a flurry of ICE vehicles all across our neighborhoods. Today one vehicle led an observer to their own home and pointed at it. This is a sick game to them, but we won’t be intimidated and we won’t stop until DHS is abolished.

Wow. Trump has uncovered a Chinese plot to “to terminate ALL Ice Hockey being played in Canada, and permanently eliminate the Stanley Cup.”

Big if true 😂

A big point of friction I've had with the surge in signal groups is a bunch of men who haven't done anything in organizing here before coming in and acting like experts on op-sec and what we should be doing 🙃 we don't have time for hegemony
Wine moms and knitters are getting shit done like women so often do: quietly in the background, making shit happen where men don’t typically see it, or necessarily value it - and they’re not demanding credit or spotlight.

They’re not just day-drinking and knitting. They’re organizing.

This is an important point about what we do. Whistles are not a universal tool. Some communities want them, some do not. Some orgs within communities disagree. We are not means testing OR gatekeeping the whistles, but we are getting consent from orgs before using their info on whistles.
The great thing about having romance authors on a project is that we tend to operate under rules of consent. If people don't want whistles, we don't send to them. We reach out to every rapid response # and ask for consent to use their numbers before putting them on whistles.

Early in the pandemic, when I needed to network with other Menominee folks about mutual aid, everyone told me to talk to those women, and they were 100% right. The process of making things together and putting those things out into the world is important, and dismissing that is often masculinist BS.

I say this regularly. People use performative as a substitute for 'inauthentic' and we could all just say the words we mean to say. Erving Goffman helps us to understand that we perform all of the time in real life. Life itself is often a performance of self.
People have worn out "performative." We often perform things that are real, you know. Posting is a kind of performance of one's politics. Performative doesn't actually mean "fake" or "empty," it just gets deployed that way. We actually need performance. Case in point: last night's performance.

If the current moment has taught us anything, it is about the uselessness of libertarianism.
The image sums it up perfectly. The Gadsden flag was all out during the Obama era. How often do you see it now? Most of the principled libertarians were happy to trad their principles for Trumpism.
I feel like I'm losing my goddamnned mind.
