You're just going to look the other way and quietly support other Senators doing it.
I will not support the Republican bill that’s on the Senate floor because it fails to do anything of substance to fix America’s healthcare crisis.

Not many people are talking about the children being harmed by #ICELawlessness but it's important to talk about.

What's happening to these kids is being paid for by our tax dollars.

We're paying for the torture of children.

I know this is beyond grim, but we must let people know about this!

THEY PEPPER SPRAYED A BABY

THEY PEPPER SPRAYED A BABY

Please read this entire excellent piece by Caroline, which points out that a judge ordered the Feds (again) to stop doing **this exact kind of thing** and they are still continuing to do it all over Chicago
Arianna Sofia Veraza and her parents were driving to Sam's Club for milk, eggs and diapers yesterday when they heard helicopters and horns blaring yesterday. They had turned around to leave when a federal agent pepper-sprayed them through a car window.

Here's the part that gets me on the shutdown: The section prohibiting Trump from firing workers is great! But it wasn't carried through to stop rescissions & withheld funds.
That Democrats knew how to write a No Kings budget, then only passed a tiny section of it to get Tim Kaine's vote, is galling.

Senate Democrats actually know how to use their power to counter Donald Trump and ensure that legislative funding gets spent—but this continuing resolution makes it clear they chose not to.

Surprise, surprise. I cannot believe that Schumer thought it would somehow be savvy to give in, when just last week voters showed such a strong and clear sense that Republicans are not to be trusted.

MSNBC reported Schumer's office felt that the longer that shutdown went on, the more likely it was that people would start to blame the Dems.

My kingdom for Democrats that don't govern out of fear. I've said it before and I'll say it again: The American people are far braver than their reps.

Like every argument about the ACA subsidies is worse than January because open enrollment is closed and people will not have been able to afford to enroll

So a vote to restore subsidies would also have to include a new open enrollment, which would be even worse of a lift

Schumer said the Dems will "keep fighting". Keep fighting their own voters? Keep fighting off effectiveness? Keep fighting being held accountable for anything? As far as I can tell the Democratic leadership is good at one thing only now, which is sending fundraising messages to my phone.
