Once the rain stopped last night, it was perfect for walking.

I gave the soft food that Blini refused to eat, to Mimo who loves it.

Anyone want to guess which cat besides Mimo suddenly loves it again now that it's in Mimo's bowl? 😼

It comes as a great surprise to discover Blini's hatred of the soft food she loved last week. Glad I bought more of it!

Blini has bounced back nicely today. She has a good appetite and was more active than I thought she would be. Mimo has been on good behavior as well, with no surprise attacks.

Trump's golden age of America in action. Meanwhile, billionaires have never had it better.
“U.S. employers announced 108,435 layoffs for the month, up 118% from the same period a year ago. The total marked the highest for any January since 2009, while the economy was in the final months of its steepest downturn since the Great Depression.”
Layoffs in January were the highest to start a year since 2009, Challenger says
With the recent narrative centering on a no-hire, no-fire labor market, the data suggests that the layoff part of the equation could be stepping up.

Another reason why Democrats should boycott Fox and every Murdoch outlet. The Republicans love Trump because they're spoon fed a steady diet of his bullshit via Murdoch, so they think everything is great.

After eating like a champion last night, Blini slept solidly overnight and hardly moved. She woke up to look for food again around 5:30. I have pills to give her but will let her chill out a bit before those.

The other good news is that there were no surprise pouncing attacks by Mimo while sleeping

Early in his career, William Randolph Hearst famously joked that if his papers kept losing $1 million a year, he'd lose all his money in 60 years. If the Post continues to lose $100 million a year, it will take Jeff Bezos 2000 years to lose his money.

She's a bit groggy, is wobbly when she walks but has a massive appetite. Blini is back home.

This!!
Bezos isn't destroying the Washington Post because it isn't profitable. He's destroying the Washington Post because he's calculated that a robust free press threatens the ability of his class to warp society around their interests

The Washington Post has been garbage since Bezos took over and it's about to get so much worse. The billionaires are killing democracy.
“Washington Post editor in chief Matt Murray on Wednesday morning announced internally a “broad strategic reset” that will result in “significant” layoffs across the company.”

Last night's rooftop terrace discovery was thanks to a nearby hotel which is where we started. We were going to do apero on the hotel's rooftop terrace that overlooks Paris but it was closed for a private event. The FR national rugby team was staying there.

A great recommendation by the hotel team.

When family members arrived on the scene, their loved ones had been disappeared by federal agents. But what they found inside the vehicles was disturbing: a customized ace of spades playing card — a “death card” — that read “ICE Denver Field Office.”

Blini goes to the vet this morning so I had to remove food last night, which wasn't very popular with the girls. Mimo started crinkling anything she could find at around 4:30am and Blini is lobbying hard for croquettes.

Friends invited me for drinks and I had no idea this terrace existed!!!

Manufacturing is down, inflation is up, jobs market is weak, global conflict up, allies turning away, a police state at home but the Trump family fortunes have increased through the roof. It's a total swindle.
(WSJ) - The manufacturing boom President Trump promised would usher in a golden age for America is going in reverse.

Let's imagine the GOP response if a Democratic president even suggested these projects. There would be howling until the end of time.
Rep. Pete Sessions on the Kennedy Center: "I was unaware. But just like the East Wing of the White House, if they are redoing something to make it better, dramatically better, I would understand construction. I need to look at that and next time you have me on I would be glad to give you my opinion"

He's always going to have a firm grip on the Republican voters (who love him) but at least with independent voters, he's dropping hard.
POTUS job approval down to

34% for independents

JK Rowling's team invited Jeffery Epstein to the deathly hallows play and to a Harry potter dinner.

Two days ago, the president used his social media platform to endorse this "phenomenal candidate" and to urge "all America First Patriots" in the district to get out and vote for her.

Today, he says he doesn't know anything about it and had nothing to do with it.

He's lying or demented or both.

For me one of the most interesting places to visit was the salle du jeu de paume (a predecessor to tennis) where the Third Estate met and agreed to write a constitution. A pivotal moment in French history!

There are brief moments when it's not too busy. Over winter they average 2,000 visitors per day and summer it's around 10,000 per day.
