Biss announces a significant endorsement from Rep. Ness, who represents the far edge of #IL09 in Springfield

I think people sometimes forget how ridiculous Illinois’ districts look

Some institutional backing here that could sway Dems in Algonquin/Carpentersville
Suzanne Ness is a dedicated and intelligent legislator and leader for Illinois. I am honored to have earned her endorsement.

Final vote on whether or not to approve this 29-story high-rise apartment building in Evanston is scheduled for tonight

If built, it would be Evanston's tallest building and the largest single contribution to the city's inclusionary housing stock

Interesting that Schumer was a no while Durbin voted yes

Have to imagine Schumer’s political future weighed a bit on his vote while Durbin is retiring so he doesn’t have to explain it to voters

Not sure if the plan worked though since Schumer is getting cooked anyways👇🏼👇🏼
Senator Schumer is no longer effective and should be replaced. If you can’t lead the fight to stop healthcare premiums from skyrocketing for Americans, what will you fight for?

The top three Illinois Dems vying to replace Durbin next year spoke out against the funding package he signed onto tonight

Dick Durbin stands on his own with his yes vote tonight to reopen the government

He’s the only Dem from a deep blue state to vote yes

Shaheen/Hassan - NH centrists
CCM/Rosen - NV (swing state)
Kaine - VA (fed workers)
Fetterman - ….
King - Maine independent

And then there’s Durbin

Biss’ thoughts on ending the shutdown with tonight’s deal:

#IL09
Throughout this shutdown, Democrats have shown that we have the backbone to actually fight for what we believe in: lower costs, accessible healthcare, and a Congress that can be a check on Trump’s chaos.

Vague Republican promises are not enough — no deal without real progress on healthcare.

Durbin on voting yes to reopen the government tonight:

“It’s time for Leader Thune to keep his promise to schedule a vote on the ACA tax credits in December.”

Durbin is retiring and an ACA tax credit vote is bound to fail, making it a vote he won’t have to answer for next year
