The boss lives.
I wrote this song on Saturday, recorded it yesterday and released it to you today in response to the state terror being visited on the city of Minneapolis. It’s dedicated to the people of Minneapolis, our innocent immigrant neighbors and in memory of Alex Pretti and Renee Good.

As they should be.
I'm starting to think the Trumpist mastery of propaganda is failing them. The DHS agents posing this way makes it look like they're ashamed of themselves.

I’m done with this shit. This isn’t a game. And if you don’t realize that the work of Judges Xinis and Boasberg and Ellis has been an essential part of forcing this administration to account for its actions, you’re not a serious person.

I heard someone say it was “extreme” to demand the names of the ICE agents who murdered Alex Pretti.

No. Demanding government disclosure of the names of government agents when they kill Americans is moderate.

Wanting to read the names off the plaque at a mass grave would be, perhaps, extreme.

Weird that 2026 is the year that makes activism cool again

Like, even in 2020 there was a certain population that thought collective action was pointless and idk maybe its me but feels like the tide has a'turned as people see the possible

i don't know that any of these people who fundamentally came up as right-wing media figures understand that claims ought to have facts underlying them. i think they think you can just say whatever
I think watching this one thing that happened here is just lying their faces off worked a lonnnnng time until it didn't, and by the time it didn't they were SO fucking far out over their skis that they were lying about executing a gun carrying white guy everyone could see and that was nasty business

The biggest risk in this moment is something sociologists call “symbolic compliance.”

That’s when an institution that is violating civil rights gives the public just enough symbolic victories that accountability efforts lose steam before there has been any meaningful change.

Simple, effective, and fun communication from someone who knows what leadership is.

If this doesnt become the blueprint for Dems in all levels, they deserve to go the way of the dodo.
We're getting a snowstorm tomorrow. But New York City is prepared.

Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O'Hara: "People have had enough. This is the third shooting in less than 3 weeks. The MPD went the entire year last year recovering about 900 guns from the street, arresting hundreds of violent offenders, and we didn't shoot anyone ... this is not sustainable."

Everyone has a part to play. Even—especially—the person who moderates the subreddit for videos of people patting their cat on the butt really rapidly.
This is an excellent example of someone using their power to shun those that deserve it.

I just want to make it clear that it was *Border Patrol* agents who murdered Alex Pretti, and those fuckers murder people regularly here along the border.

Renee Good´s murderer is also a former Border Patrol agent (currently ICE).

Disband ALL the paramilitary groups and prosecute every member.

I keep thinking “my god the people they’ve killed seem like exceptionally good folks” and I think the lesson there is that they’re not exceptional, but that wonderful people abound and that a baseline distrust in humanity is a shitty conservative trope that privileges power over collective strength
you don't become a martyr because you were a saint, you become a saint because you were martyred
I agree that we can’t make Alex Pretti a Benedictine monk because that’s a trap, but we can talk about the good things we did because people will see and hear them and think “I do those things too”

I've seen multiple people making this point now and I've yet to see anyone saying he didn't deserve to die "because he's perfect".

It is GOOD to honor victims of senseless violence. It is GOOD to honor good things that they did. Saying this does not imply that a less "good" person deserves to die.
You could actually structure your moral code around the idea that law enforcement doesn't exist to execute people. You don't have to create perfect victim narratives, you can just refuse to accept that the state gets to kill people.

Attorney General Pam Bondi: "Our country was founded on law enforcement"
Bondi: "It's extremely organized. The signs they have are all matching, they're well written. And look at what's happening today. How did these people go out & get gas masks? These protesters. Would you know how to walk out on the street and buy a gas mask? Think about that. We're not gonna have it"
